Deputy Attorney General I/II/III
Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General
This role involves working as an attorney in the Litigation Section in Pittsburgh, defending claims involving civil rights, constitutional law, and employment law while representing the Commonwealth, the OAG, the Governor, and other Commonwealth agencies, officials, and employees. Handle cases from service of legal process through posttrial motions Consult with the Appellate Litigation Section on any appeals Communicate effectively and possess strong research and writing skills Independently manage a full caseload Receive support and guidance from supervisors and colleagues May team up with more senior attorneys on complex matters Occasional travel for client meetings or site visits Travel to federal or state courts within the Western District of Pennsylvania for court appearances Occasional travel to Philadelphia or Harrisburg based on case needs or required training events
Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of law
- Admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania
- Deputy Attorney General I: No minimum experience required
- Deputy Attorney General II: Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in professional legal work
- Deputy Attorney General III: Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in professional legal work
