Primary job duties include: - Collecting/resolving debt and enforcing tax laws in routine cases through research and taxpayer contact/follow-up, with a focus on the security of taxpayer data - Assisting in prioritizing accounts in collection status by managing assigned case load and determining urgency using established selection criteria - Preparing/submitting required reports, with guidance - Assisting in providing taxpayer assistance to include: - Providing basic assistance and referring taxpayers to use our free online tax portal (MyDORWAY) - Processing Business Tax Applications - Filing basic returns (current and delinquent) - Adjusting/issuing assessments and liens - Assisting in performing inspections of Sales, Coin Operated Device (COD), and Admissions licenses - Assisting with writing violations to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations - Developing, updating, and reviewing section procedures Minimum and Additional Requirements Either: - A bachelor's degree in a related field OR - An associate's degree in a business-related field and relevant work experience OR - Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR) Additional requirement: - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for field work.
