Building Science Project Engineer – Property Condition Assessments
Partner Engineering & Science, Inc.
• Conduct assessments of buildings to evaluate the condition of the building systems • Provide recommendations for immediate repairs • Use observations and industry standards to determine future building system replacements • Conduct appropriate site reconnaissance, data compilation and organization, and project research (historical, regulatory, etc.) • Technical report authoring and preparation of quality supporting documents (maps, appendices, etc.) • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones to ensure project progress status is on schedule • Effectively communicate project progress and any issues as they arise to the Project Manager and client • Provide solid recommendations and solutions to the Project Manager and client, while understanding the assessment’s potential impact on the transaction process
Job Requirements
- A Bachelors or Graduate Degree in Architecture or related Engineering Field (Civil, Mechanical, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience in architecture, engineering and/or construction/cost estimating
- 2+ years of experience performing property inspections
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation to and from project sites
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on projects concurrently with a proven ability to successfully deliver a quality product on time
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships within a team
- Familiar with the basic principles of civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering, including construction and maintenance of structures and systems
- Understand concepts of building component life cycles, system condition evaluation, replacement costs
