• Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for Spain and Portugal, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local regulations and collective bargaining agreements • Validate payroll inputs (hires, terminations, changes, bonuses, leaves, allowances, shifts, etc.) and reconcile payroll outputs from external providers • Act as the primary point of contact for external payroll vendors, monitoring service quality, SLAs, escalations, and continuous improvement actions • Ensure compliance with labor law, social security, taxation, and internal payroll controls, supporting internal and external audits as required • Prepare, analyze, and validate monthly payroll reports for HR, Finance, and management • Provide expert support to employees, HR Business Partners, Finance, HRIS, and Legal on payroll, benefits, taxation, and time & attendance matters • Drive process improvements, standardization, and digitalization of payroll activities, ensuring alignment with global standards where applicable
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 5+ years of payroll experience in Spain; exposure to Portugal payroll is a strong advantage
- Strong knowledge of Spanish labor law, social security, taxation, and payroll compliance
- Proven experience working with external payroll providers (e.g., ADP, SD Worx, or similar)
- Solid experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Workday, SAP HR, Meta4, or similar), with advanced Excel skills preferred
- High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, service orientation, confidentiality, plus fluency in Spanish and English.

Role Description The Temporary Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely, assisting employees with payroll-related questions, and running standard payroll reports. This role supports day-to-day payroll operations, including paycheck calculations, deductions, tax withholdings, garnishments, and timekeeping review, while ensuring compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
