Field Services Technician
Peraton Corporation
• Lead and support site surveys, site preparation, and system installation activities • Execute and support VCS system cutovers from legacy voice platforms to next-generation systems • Perform decommissioning of legacy voice communication systems • Conduct independent system testing and validation to confirm: Power installation compliance, Cabling integrity and standards adherence, Equipment and site specification alignment • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of VCS and supporting telecom/IT infrastructure • Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve voice, network, and hardware faults • Support preventive maintenance and system health checks • Provide on-site customer support and end-user orientation/training as needed • Maintain accurate technical documentation, service reports, and cutover records • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, site security, and operational standards • Coordinate closely with engineers, program teams, and other field technicians during deployment activities
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, 12 years in lieu of degree
- The candidate will need to be able to obtain a public trust clearance
- Hands-on experience with Voice Communication Switch (VCS) systems or similar mission-critical voice platforms
- Experience supporting system cutovers, migrations, or technology refresh efforts
- Knowledge of: Telecommunications infrastructure, VoIP technologies, Cabling standards and power validation, Networked voice systems
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause diagnostic skills
- Experience using test equipment and diagnostic tools in field environments
- Familiarity with operational environments where uptime and reliability are critical

• Perform technical skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of generators. • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of generators both during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends and holidays as directed. • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance service and/or repairs of generators. • Read and interpret operational manuals, electrical schematics, universal generator literature, and work orders to perform required maintenance and/or repairs. • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report them and any other unusual situations to the service manager in a timely manner. • Stay current on National Fire Protection Association and State regulations for Emergency Power Supply Systems. • Create reports for all work performed in FieldServio. • Communicate report findings through but not limited to phone calls, emails and in person communication. • Conducting equipment commissioning for the industrial and MPS products.

• Diagnose and repair electrical charging infrastructure with precision using advanced tools and techniques, from computer diagnostics to basic electrical repairs • Maintain meticulous records for all repairs and installations and coordinate seamlessly with third parties/vendors to ensure flawless project execution • Ensure all services and projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget, with a keen focus on resource allocation and client satisfaction • Proactively offer clients additional services, including service agreements, preventative maintenance plans, InControl monitoring software, and other revenue-generating items.
