Role Description As Konovo's Controller, you will have the opportunity to build and shape the finance function of a high-growth healthcare market research company, while partnering closely with executive leadership to influence strategic decisions. - Partner with VP Accounting and cross-functional teams to provide accurate financial insights and support the company’s transition to a product-driven platform. - Develop and implement scalable accounting processes, reporting frameworks, internal controls, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency across the organization. - Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements, while supporting strategic initiatives and new business opportunities. - Partner with global finance counterparts in the UK and India to drive best practices, ensure consistency, and solve complex accounting and operational challenges. - Lead, coach, and develop a team of four, fostering accountability, continuous learning, and high performance across the Finance function. - Oversee cash management activities and support liquidity planning to ensure adequate funding across US and international entities. - Partner with the CFO and VP Accounting in preparing and maintaining short and long-term cash flow forecasts. - Support banking administration, foreign currency management, and intercompany funding activities. - Oversee AP and AR functions to maintain strong working capital discipline and optimize cash flow. - Own the company’s travel and expense (T&E) platform (e.g., Expensify) and related policies to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and strong internal controls. Qualifications - Proactive accounting leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to balance hands-on detail orientation with providing meaningful financial insights to support the business. - 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including controllership roles; prior experience in SaaS, healthcare, or high-growth environments preferred. - Proven track record of driving financial integrity, building scalable processes, and delivering timely, accurate reporting under US GAAP. - Collaborative and adaptable, thriving in dynamic, fast-changing environments while partnering effectively across executive and operational teams. - Experienced audit leader, with a history of managing annual audits. - Experience using Sage Intacct (ERP), Salesforce (CRM), and Expensify (T&E), plus strong Excel skills. - Hands-on experience managing banking activities, including cash management and forecasting. - Proven experience leading month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement across reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting. - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and CPA required. Role Description What to Expect in the Role: - Accounting Responsibilities: - Review work performed to ensure accuracy, identify and resolve issues and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies. - Monitor royalty contracts and manage related revenue recognition. - Assist with and review input of vouchers, invoices, reports, and other payables items. - Perform periodic review and analysis of inventoried assets across multiple operating locations. - Review invoices for fixed asset determination. - Schedule and perform periodic inventory and fixed asset count and reconciliation. - Review general ledger reconciliations, including monthly bank reconciliations. - Review monthly accrual and other journal entries as needed for operations. - Close and Reporting: - Coordinate with the Retail and Corporate Controllers to ensure timely close and reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. - Prepare monthly operating reports detailing actual and forecasted results. - Conduct monthly cash flow forecasting. - Prepare and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). - Prepare annual budgets for all locations. - Coordinate audits of company’s accounts. - Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies. - Coordinate the month-end and year-end closing process across multiple locations. - Review company financial statements for accuracy and clarity. - Other: - Support the creation of and adherence to policies and procedures for the segment. - Support process improvement and optimization of NetSuite ERP. - Assist with development of operational and financial reporting, including review for accuracy. - Demonstrate a strong ability to communicate areas of accounting with operations. - Show a commitment to safeguarding the assets of the company. - Maintain a high level of confidentiality for a private, closely held company. Location This position is open only to residents of Texas and Florida. We prefer candidates to work from our Wharton, TX office or one of our branch offices in Texas or Florida. However, for an exceptional candidate, we are willing to consider a full-time remote arrangement.
