Fire Pump Engineer

Role Description The role holder will be required to safely carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance works and produce the necessary reports that meet the current requirements of external accrediting bodies. - Perform servicing of fire pumps systems in line with specified scope of works, ensuring servicing is completed fully and to a high standard of quality. - Provide detailed and accurate servicing reports, providing an assessment of any remedial requirements to ensure the integrity of the fire systems for our clients. - Perform any repair work as required to fire pumps systems, in line with the scope of works set out and agreed with the client. - Travel outside of area where needed, to service our client needs. - Perform monthly stock checks on your van, to provide timely stock sheets to our Stores. - Perform monthly PPE and Vehicle checks, to provide timely forms to our safety team. - Attend out of hours call outs as and when needed. - Act with integrity and professionalism in all communications with clients and colleagues. - Keep abreast of changes and amendments of standards, regulations, and best practice within the industry. - Use and maintain your vehicles and tools in line with company policy. - Always adhere to Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Qualifications - Qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering - Comfortable working with handheld, electronic devices to record information - Competence in using standard office packages such as Microsoft Outlook (email), Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Strong organisation skills. - Clean criminal record due to working in highly secure areas. Role Description The FEA Process Engineer will support the business by managing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) activity, strengthening analysis processes, and providing technical engineering support across product development, design validation, testing, and manufacturing requirements. This role will focus on Abaqus-based simulation, model review, fatigue and non-linear analysis, reporting, correlation activity, process improvement, and engineering recommendations that support product performance and continuous improvement. - Conduct and support FEA activities using Abaqus and other relevant CAE tools to assess structural performance, fatigue, durability, and product behaviour. - Develop, maintain, and improve FEA procedures, templates, workflow standards, reporting tools, and analysis documentation. - Support non-linear analysis, fatigue analysis, structural analysis, and other advanced simulation requirements across engineering projects. - Review CAD and FEA model outputs, including geometry preparation, mesh quality, material properties, boundary conditions, load cases, and result accuracy. - Interpret simulation results and provide clear engineering recommendations to support design decisions, issue resolution, and product improvement. - Coordinate FEA task planning, scheduling, prioritisation, and progress tracking to ensure analysis work is completed in line with project timelines. - Maintain reporting systems, trackers, and technical records covering FEA status, model reviews, analysis outcomes, and correlation activity. - Support model correlation and validation by comparing simulation results with physical test results, historical data, or engineering expectations. - Identify opportunities to improve modelling efficiency, analysis accuracy, reporting quality, and overall FEA process capability. - Prepare technical reports, analysis summaries, result presentations, and engineering documentation for internal review and decision-making. - Work with design, product, manufacturing, testing, and engineering teams to clarify analysis requirements and support practical design outcomes. - Provide FEA input into engineering change processes, product improvement activity, and technical issue investigations. - Maintain organised FEA files, model assumptions, simulation outputs, results, reports, and supporting technical documentation. - Stay updated with FEA, CAE, Abaqus, mechanical analysis, product engineering, and advanced manufacturing best practices. - Other position-level duties as they arise.
