How You’ll Make an Impact As a Senior Benefits Administration Specialist in our HR Operations group, you'll support the effective administration, communication, and continuous improvement of health and welfare benefits programs for our sister company, OxyChem. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver solutions that enhance employee wellbeing and overall experience. In this role, you will: - Administer and oversee day-to-day operations of health and welfare benefit plans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness. - Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex or sensitive benefits issues including eligibility, claims, payroll impacts, and policy interpretation. - Interpret and apply plan documents, Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), and administrative guidelines to resolve non-routine situations. - Lead resolution of escalated Workday issues, including root cause analysis of system discrepancies and partnering with HR Information Technology (HRIT) teams. - Act as the primary liaison for vendors and third-party administrators to resolve complex issues and identify systemic improvements. - Analyze service trends and case data to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and policy clarification. - Support key benefits initiatives such as open enrollment, acquisitions, divestitures, and system enhancements. - Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), job aids, and training materials. - Provide mentorship and guidance to Benefits Administration Specialists to strengthen team capability. - Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), compliance standards, and internal controls. - Partner with leadership to improve service delivery models, workflows, and the employee experience. Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience. - Minimum of 7 years of professional Human Resources experience, preferably in benefits administration. - Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements. - Proven ability to interpret and apply complex plan documents and policies. - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain benefits concepts clearly. - Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity. - Strong organizational, time management, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. - High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
