Role Description We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Art Teacher to join our dynamic academic team. This role involves delivering high-quality support through asynchronous content, supporting a flexible, student-centered learning environment. Key Responsibilities - Instructional Delivery: - Support students through high quality and timely feedback on work submissions as they progress through their asynchronous curriculum. - Provide targeted support, advice and teaching to students during ‘office hours’. - Facilitate community and confidence building activities during identified group sessions. - Undertake academic instruction and planning as required by the leadership team. - Student Support & Engagement: - Monitor student progress and provide timely, individualized feedback, and support in sessions and using our messaging system. - Be available for office hours by appointment to assist students in one-on-one or in small groups with their submissions, questions and understanding. - Take a proactive approach to identifying students in need of support, putting this in place in timely fashion. - Work & Course Management: - Develop and maintain asynchronous materials and assessments aligned with course objectives. - Deliver a wider range of course preps as needed, potentially across multiple subjects or grade levels. - Maintain a flexible and responsive approach to course coverage and student needs. - Work closely with other teams, including learning coaches and student services, to ensure they can support student progress and wellbeing. - Professional & Community Engagement: - Attend all sessions and meetings unless absent due to illness or an approved, planned absence (in which case, a recorded lesson is required). - Maintain professional communication and collaboration with colleagues, leadership and families. - Maintain prompt, professional, and positive communication with students and families, taking responsibility for solving issues and motivating students. Qualifications - Teaching experience, with online or hybrid experience an advantage. - Skilled in delivering instruction through live virtual classes and asynchronous content. - Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Visual Arts, Digital Arts or a closely related field. - Proficient in using digital learning tools (e.g., LMS, video conferencing, assistive tech). - Capable of teaching multiple visual art course preps across grade levels. - Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future. • Support the learning program for students in Connections Academy schools • Be online and available to students, parents, and school staff Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the school's time zone • Communicate with parents, students and other teachers to develop and update individualized learning plans • Provide feedback on student work and suggest instructional strategies • Monitor completion of assignments and verify student learning • Complete all grading and generate progress reports • Conduct parent conferences in a timely manner • Support the instructional program through synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions • Keep student records and data up to date • Work with counselors and special educators to meet individual student needs • Actively check email to remain informed of upcoming assignments and updates • Meet monthly with an assigned Substitute Services supervisor

• Design and deliver engaging, career-focused instruction across relevant CTE pathways • Coordinate and expand Work Based Learning opportunities, including internships, job shadowing experiences, career panels, industry site visits • Build and sustain meaningful partnerships with local businesses, industry professionals, workforce development organizations, and community stakeholders • Support students in earning industry-recognized certifications, guiding them through preparation, registration, and completion of credentialing exams • Leverage LCCA's digital infrastructure, Learning Management System (LMS) and a suite of digital tools and curriculum resources • Support students and parents with alternate strategies and provide additional assistance with daily assignments and projects • Keep student records and data up-to-date • Consult with team members and staff learning specialists to develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications to students’ programs • Devise and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a “school community” • Participate in the organization and administration of the State Testing • Participate in student recruiting sessions and other marketing efforts that require teacher representation.

• Working from our office or your home office in Michigan, certified Teachers will virtually manage instructional programs. • Through use of the telephone, Internet and various curriculum tools they will consult regularly with learning coaches and students to ensure that each child successfully completes their instructional program. • Support the instructional program with asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction; • Complete all grading, create progress reports and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner; • Communicate with parents, students and other teachers on a regular basis to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, score assessments, provide feedback on student work, suggest instructional approaches and strategies, monitor completion of assignments and coach special projects; • Develop a general knowledge of the entire program’s curriculum and a very detailed knowledge of the courses for which responsible; • Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to presenting lessons to increase student understanding (working directly with students and parents); • Support students and parents with alternate strategies and provide additional assistance with daily assignments and projects; • Communicate regularly with parents, students, and school staff through use of computer and telephone; • Work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure that all students are successfully progressing through the program, that parents have a central point of contact, and that tasks are distributed among the teachers; • Keep student records and data up to date, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance accounting, and logging all student and parent contacts; • Consult with other teachers, team members, academic interventionists/specialists, and other staff members to develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications to students’ programs to increase student understanding; • Work with staff to ensure students and families are receiving appropriate communications, students are making adequate progress and established goals are being met; • Work with other teachers to coordinate social activities and relevant field trips for students; • Manage regional field trips and make efforts to integrate trips into the curriculum; • Devise and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a “school community”; • Participate in the organization and administration of the State Testing, as directed; • Participate in student recruiting sessions and other marketing efforts that require teacher representation; • Attend field trips and other community activities implemented for families; and • Other duties as assigned.
