Executive Underwriter, Commercial Surety

Role Description Partnering with a regional leader, provide underwriting and marketing duties by conducting high levels of financial analysis, risk assessment and utilizing technical underwriting expertise to determine credit quality and underwriting acceptability. Responsibilities and Accountabilities - Gather and analyze information, applying appropriate underwriting techniques, necessary to make an accurate evaluation of credit quality & acceptability of risk. - Develop and maintain strong working relationships with assigned producers and cultivate new relationships. - Responsible for developing and managing a book of business, meeting/exceeding profitability objectives as set forth by management. This includes building and growing strategic relationships as well as finding opportunity for new business within the defined territory. - Continuously monitor assigned accounts to ensure compliance with Arch standards and make/recommend appropriate corrective actions as needed. - Prepare underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits. - Perform additional projects as requested by Regional Lead. Qualifications - Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles and the ability to demonstrate sound business judgment in evaluation of the financial condition, experience, credit history and character of contract accounts. - Strong communication and organizational skills. - Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet agreed upon expectations. - Learns quickly and demonstrates an open attitude when faced with new problems, processes, or procedures. - Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office software products. Requirements - Minimum of four years surety underwriting experience and/or equivalent surety related experience required. - AFSB designation preferred.
