Role Description As a Key Account Manager, you will drive sales and profitable growth with Local & Regional Clients in the DACH area, Netherlands and Luxembourg through strong customer relationship management, strategic account development and close cross-functional collaboration. You will manage fragrance development projects and support the execution of the overall commercial strategy for the market. In this exciting role, you will work closely with customers, internal teams and commercial leadership to identify opportunities, deliver innovative solutions and strengthen Givaudan’s position as a preferred partner. The position can be based in Baierbrunn or Hamburg in Germany and reports to our Area Sales Director, German Area. Key Responsibilities - Commercial Growth & Account Management - Drive profitable business growth across the DACH area plus Netherlands and Luxembourg with designated accounts and customers by managing both top-line and bottom-line performance. - Define, implement and coordinate customer business strategies in close collaboration with the Area Sales Director. - Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers at customer organizations. - Position Givaudan as a preferred partner and supplier through strong customer engagement and value creation. - Identify and develop proactive consumer- and market-led business opportunities relevant to customer brands and portfolios. - Develop strategic pricing approaches in alignment with global pricing guidelines to maximize project profitability. - Negotiate pricing agreements within approved guidelines and manage commercial aspects including pricing, rebates, budgets, forecasts and credit management. - Project & Cross-Functional Collaboration - Effectively manage customer projects in close partnership with Marketing, Development and Commercial teams. - Plan and drive account activities including defending existing business and developing new opportunities. - Support regional and local brands by providing commercial guidance and coordination with Local & Regional teams. - Lead customer meetings, presentations and project discussions. - Translate market trends and insights into innovative opportunities for key customer categories and retailer brands. - Business Support & Reporting - Prepare and deliver customer and market presentations, reports, and business reviews to support commercial activities and decision-making. - Conduct customer and market analyses to contribute to strategic planning and business development initiatives. - Coordinate and manage customer meetings, site visits, and business travel arrangements in a professional and efficient manner. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, or a related field. - Minimum 5 years of proven experience in key account management, sales or commercial roles, ideally within fragrances, FMCG or related industries. - Strong customer relationship and negotiation skills. - Commercially driven with strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities. - Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively. - Excellent presentation and communication skills. - Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally in an international environment. - Fluent in German and English. As an effective team leader, you will ensure team cohesion, consistency of processes, and the review and implementation of best practices. This position includes a significant level of Member interaction, Member ownership, and direct participation in more complex work assigned to the team. - Use industry expertise and software knowledge to develop and advance Account Managers’ market approach and knowledge, specifically within the Utility and Multi-Service markets. - Ensure Account Managers are familiar with products and updates. - Advocate NISC’s strategy and culture among the Membership. - Attend and present on various Member-focused topics at events as needed. - Facilitate a collaborative team through consistent methodologies and processes. - Conduct regular weekly one-on-ones with each team member. - Maintain accurate records of all team member interactions utilizing OneNote, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, and Microsoft 365. - Manage clerical and daily administrative responsibilities (timesheets, expense reports, etc.). - Identify high-impact Member issues and work across divisions to ensure NISC’s Membership is receiving high-quality service. - Assist with Member challenges and questions, participate in calls as needed, and ensure the team is facilitating assistance for Members. - Serve as a conduit between Account Managers, fellow Team Leads, and NISC projects and initiatives. - Support internal and external communications related to NISC initiatives and Account Manager contributions. - Educate the team regarding changes within the utility industry and market. - Collaboratively and effectively work across teams and departmental leadership to accomplish goals and objectives. - Engage in and support organizational activities and objectives. - Demonstrate commitment to NISC’s Statement of Shared Values. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Generally requires 10+ years of account management, product sales, and/or support experience at NISC or equivalent related experience. - Exceptional customer relationship management skills. - Ability to establish credibility and project an executive presence to interact effectively with current and prospective Members, Customers, and industry representatives at all levels of their organizations. - Strong knowledge of the rural electric cooperative and municipal utility industry, including current events, trends, and challenges. - Ability to understand the dynamics and issues related to the lifecycle of a Member’s IT solutions and effectively counsel them on opportunities for improvement. - Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. - Ability to identify and effectively resolve key issues with clients. - Knowledge of industry IT standards, terminology, and typical utility work processes. - Strong project management skills. - Excellent writing, editing, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Superior presentation skills for audiences of all sizes. - Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members. - Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism and ethical behavior. - Commitment to NISC’s Statement of Shared Values. - Ability to travel as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position. - Experience with Salesforce.
