Fund Migrations Manager

Role Description The Fund Migrations Manager is a critical member of the team responsible for overseeing the onboarding and migration of funds to the AngelList platform. This team member will oversee all aspects of the transition of funds from incumbent administrators, including: - Project management - Data validation - Operational setup - Stakeholder communication - Post-conversion stabilization The Fund Migrations Manager will report to the Fund Accounting Senior Manager or the Fund Accounting Director and collaborate with other fund accounting team members and cross-functional operations teams. You will lead a team of migration specialists while serving as a primary point of contact for clients during the administrator transition process. The role will involve interfacing directly with fund leads and their teams, incumbent administrators, and other parties. You Will: - Lead end-to-end fund migrations by managing the transition of non-registered funds from incumbent administrators to the AngelList platform. - Serve as the primary project manager for multiple concurrent migration engagements, developing project plans, tracking milestones, managing risks, and ensuring timely, successful implementation. - Review and validate migrated data, including investor capital accounts, general ledger balances, investment portfolios, commitments, capital activity, waterfall calculations, and historical financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness. - Partner directly with clients and external stakeholders to gather information, manage expectations, resolve issues, and provide regular project updates throughout the migration process. - Manage, mentor, and develop a team of fund migration specialists by providing technical guidance, coaching, performance management, and opportunities for professional growth. - Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation by evaluating existing workflows, recommending system enhancements, and implementing solutions that reduce manual effort and improve the client onboarding experience. - Drive exceptional client outcomes by ensuring migrations are completed on schedule, with a high degree of accuracy, strong communication, and minimal operational disruption, while building long-term trusted relationships with investment manager clients. - Look at existing processes and ask whether AI and automation could do them better. Qualifications - 7+ years of experience in public accounting, fund administration, fund accounting, investment operations, or a related financial services environment, with experience supporting alternative investment funds. CPA license is preferred but not essential. - 3+ years of project management experience leading complex client implementations, fund onboardings, or large-scale operational initiatives involving multiple stakeholders. - People management experience, with a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative and accountable culture. - Strong knowledge of alternative investment structures, including private equity, venture capital, and/or digital asset funds, with a solid understanding of investment company accounting (ASC 946). - Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines, manage multiple concurrent projects, mitigate risks, and consistently deliver high-quality results. - Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships with clients, senior leadership, external service providers, and cross-functional internal teams. - An instinct to question existing processes and use AI and automation to build better ones.
