Assistant Project Manager

MWH

Role Description MWH is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the team in engineering, coordination, and construction of the civil, architectural, and structural packages on a large wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) project in Tampa, FL. This position will report directly to the Senior PM and is accountable for supporting all aspects of delivery for civil, architectural, and structural work, which may include: - Procurement - Contract management - Change management - Quality management - General management of other work-related issues The Assistant PM must ensure work is performed on budget, on schedule, and in accordance with the contract documents and other engineering standards. Qualifications - A Bachelor of Science or higher university degree in engineering, construction management, or a related degree. An equivalent combination of experience, skills, and training may be substituted. - 4+ years of experience in project engineering, site superintendent, or trade package management specifically in heavy civil, structural, or buildings construction. - Familiarity with preparing contract scoping documents, reading contract drawings and specifications, and basic construction principles and practices. Requirements - Provide leadership and support to the Trade Package Project Managers and Site Superintendents. - Procurement - Support Project Managers and Contracts Team in the development of trade and equipment procurement documents. - Change Management - Coordinate with PMs and Superintendents to review and evaluate proposed change orders. - Scheduling - Support PMs in weekly progress updates with the trade contractors and program schedule team. - Shop Drawings, RFIs, As-Built Drawings - Coordinate with Project Engineering team for timely processing of submittals and RFIs. - Issues Management - Attend routine meetings and track critical issues requiring resolution. - Quality - Understand quality requirements of assigned trade packages and coordinate with trade contractors. - Safety - Ensure the safe conduct of MWH personnel and monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements.
