Role Description MWH is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the team in engineering, coordination, and construction of the civil, architectural, and structural packages on a large wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) project in Tampa, FL. This position will report directly to the Senior PM and is accountable for supporting all aspects of delivery for civil, architectural, and structural work, which may include: - Procurement - Contract management - Change management - Quality management - General management of other work-related issues The Assistant PM must ensure work is performed on budget, on schedule, and in accordance with the contract documents and other engineering standards. Qualifications - A Bachelor of Science or higher university degree in engineering, construction management, or a related degree. An equivalent combination of experience, skills, and training may be substituted. - 4+ years of experience in project engineering, site superintendent, or trade package management specifically in heavy civil, structural, or buildings construction. - Familiarity with preparing contract scoping documents, reading contract drawings and specifications, and basic construction principles and practices. Requirements - Provide leadership and support to the Trade Package Project Managers and Site Superintendents. - Procurement - Support Project Managers and Contracts Team in the development of trade and equipment procurement documents. - Change Management - Coordinate with PMs and Superintendents to review and evaluate proposed change orders. - Scheduling - Support PMs in weekly progress updates with the trade contractors and program schedule team. - Shop Drawings, RFIs, As-Built Drawings - Coordinate with Project Engineering team for timely processing of submittals and RFIs. - Issues Management - Attend routine meetings and track critical issues requiring resolution. - Quality - Understand quality requirements of assigned trade packages and coordinate with trade contractors. - Safety - Ensure the safe conduct of MWH personnel and monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements. Role Description MWH is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to support and lead critical wastewater treatment plant construction projects in the CITY/STATE area. Projects may be either integrated project delivery such as CM-at-Risk or Design-Build, or traditional Design-Bid-Build and range in size from $20-$800 million dollars in size. - Plan, organize and staff key field positions or subordinate project managers. Coordinate staffing with US Operations and other Area department heads. - Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy. - Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts, to facilitate preconstruction and construction activities. - Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site construction managers and superintendents to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures. - Represent Company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc. - Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client. - Work jointly with other members of the project team to complete the MWH Constructors' Management Administration Plan prior to initiating any fieldwork. Use the planning guidelines and tools provided throughout the project. - Assure that direct reporting employees follow safe work practices and use company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner. - Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies. - Provide leadership and technical support to project engineers, field engineers and superintendents. - Procurement of subcontractors and materials thru Purchase Agreements and Subcontracts. - Support Change Management, Cost Estimating, revenue and Cost Forecasting and Scheduling. - Assume additional responsibilities as directed by Regional Director. Qualifications - 4-year engineering/construction management degree or equivalent experience and training/education. - Minimum of 8-15 years of construction, design, finance and management experience/knowledge required on heavy civil or industrial construction projects. - 3 - 5 years of experience on water or wastewater plant projects. - Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance. - Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital. - Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential. - Strong business-orientation required. Role Description MWH is currently seeking a qualified Project Engineer to support critical water treatment plant (WTP) construction projects in the city, state area. - Provide technical support to project management and project supervision staff to ensure construction work is performed efficiently, on schedule and in accordance with company policy and engineering standards. - Assist with subcontractor procurement and management, package development, construction layout, material and equipment procurement, submittal review, manpower scheduling, quantity takeoffs, labor productivity reporting, document controls, material purchases, deliveries and inventory, and project controls. - Perform ongoing quality inspections; verify all completed work complies with applicable permits, codes, drawings, and specifications. - Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as materials and equipment submittals, status reports, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc., to supervisor. - Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, temporary works, work method statements, change orders, estimates, etc. - Prepare/facilitate and submit work method statements, ensure requisite approvals and permits are obtained prior to work commencement. - Research resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors. Initiate RFIs and follow through to resolution. - Layout and provide necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials. - Establish and implement office procedures as they relate to the administration of construction contracts. - Implement projects controls for distribution and record keeping of correspondence, technical records, and other project documents. - Review all incoming correspondence and initiate action on it, record minutes of the weekly and monthly project site meeting, review and process the Contractor’s pay applications, review of the project schedule, process RFIs and produce weekly and monthly construction progress reports. - Ensure Project management systems are maintained up-to-date and accurate. - Assist with review and analyze Contractor claims, prepare change orders, and manage claims and change order records. - Assist estimating staff with quantity takeoffs and solicitation of subcontractors and material vendors. - Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following the company health and safety guidelines and policies. - Assist in resolving construction problems/issues and perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent combination of experience, skills and training may be substituted. - 2-3 years’ field construction experience at the jobsite level. - Experience on large heavy civil construction projects. - Working knowledge of construction equipment techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to discipline. - Ability to assume responsibility and work within a larger team environment. - Ability to interface and communicate effectively with others. - Familiarity with Project Management database systems such as Primavera Contract Manager, Expedition, SharePoint, etc. - Ability to travel.
