This individual combines technical digitizing expertise, embroidery production knowledge, and quality control skills to create efficient stitch plans that run smoothly on commercial embroidery machines while maintaining the highest possible visual quality. The ideal candidate understands not only how to digitize designs, but why specific stitch types, densities, underlays, pull compensation, and sequencing decisions affect production outcomes. Role Description This Peer Specialist position may only be filled with a Veteran that meets statutory requirements that are detailed in the qualifications section. This position is part of the Veterans Crisis Line (VCL), which is a 24-hour, 7-days-a-week service aimed at connecting callers worldwide to a caring, qualified VA employee. The VCL's mission is to provide 24/7, world-class suicide prevention and crisis intervention services to Veterans, Service Members, and their family members. The Peer Specialist functions as an interdisciplinary team member, assisting physicians and other professional/non-professional personnel in a rehabilitation treatment program. Peer specialists perform a variety of therapeutic and supportive tasks, including: - Assisting Veterans in articulating their goals for recovery and personal wellness. - Learning and practicing new skills. - Helping Veterans monitor their progress. - Modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies based on their own recovery experience. - Supporting Veterans in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services.
