Role Description The Chief of Staff (CoS) for Presales & Solutions Engineering is a strategic force-multiplier for the Global Head of Presales. This is not a traditional program management role — it is a high-impact, highly visible position that sits at the intersection of operations, strategy, executive communications, and cross-functional leadership. The CoS ensures the SE organization runs smoothly, scales effectively, and stays relentlessly aligned with company strategy. You will operate as the connective tissue across the SE Leadership Team, Sales, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Enablement — driving execution without relying on authority, and amplifying the impact of the SE leader at every level of the organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic operator: someone who can think at the executive level, roll up their sleeves to drive execution, and bring clarity and momentum to everything they touch. Responsibilities What You'll Do: - Strategic Planning & Alignment - Partner with the Presales leader and SE Excellence to operationalize — not define — strategy. - Translate SE leadership vision and existing strategy into clear, sequenced execution plans. - Ensure organizational priorities are communicated and executed effectively across all regions and functions. - Drive cross-functional alignment with Sales, Product, Customer Success, Marketing, and Partners in support of the SE strategy. - Keep the organization focused on high-impact initiatives and actively remove distractions and organizational drag. - Facilitate strategic brainstorming sessions with functional leaders, guiding strategy development and crafting actionable plans. - Communication & Leadership Meeting Management - Draft executive communications including all-hands narratives, leadership updates, announcements, and internal/external speaking preparation. - Serve as the SE leader's delegate in cross-functional meetings when appropriate. - Plan and facilitate weekly LT meetings, staff meetings, off-sites, and business reviews — coaching leaders on content and presentation quality. - Ensure cascaded communication across regions is clear, timely, and aligned with leadership intent. - Partner with communications leads to drive global messaging and foster team engagement at scale. - Decision Support & Leadership Leverage - Run a structured triage process so only priority decisions and escalations reach the SE leader. - Manage escalation channels between SE and the broader field organization, unblocking cross-functional issues that require leadership influence. - Provide the Global Head of Presales with synthesized insights, risks, and clearly recommended actions. - Diagnose pain points and implement scalable solutions to improve team effectiveness, decision-making, and access to information. - Ensure leadership is prepared for program deadlines, reviews, and key decisions by coordinating necessary resources, information, and deliverables. - Operational Excellence & Execution Cadence - Own and drive the operating rhythm for the global SE organization — including MBRs, QBRs, forecast reviews, staff meetings, and accountability loops. - Ensure meeting preparation, follow-ups, and deliverables are completed to standard and on time. - Diagnose organizational bottlenecks and implement solutions for better decision-making, information flow, and cross-team coordination. - Create and maintain operational mechanisms, workflows, and documentation to continuously improve organizational efficiency. - Data, Analytics & Performance Visibility - Partner with SE Excellence, Finance, and Ops teams to maintain accurate SE scorecards, metrics, and KPIs. - Support headcount planning, staffing, capacity modelling, and LT resourcing decisions. - Build and deliver reporting for executive stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely visibility into organizational performance. - Provide data-driven insights to inform operational improvements and leadership decisions. - Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment - Act as connective tissue between the SE org and Sales LT, Success LT, Product, Marketing, Enablement, and Partners. - Drive alignment on messaging, execution expectations, and global initiatives across the full field organization. - Represent SE operational needs in cross-functional planning forums, ensuring SE implications are understood and accounted for in company-wide decisions. - Keep leadership informed on projects or programs that may impact the SE business, providing proactive insights and course corrections. - Special Projects & Leadership Support - Lead high-impact, ambiguous, cross-functional projects on behalf of the Global Head of Presales — from ideation through to completion. - Step in as program lead for initiatives needing coordination, structure, or execution momentum. - Act as a trusted advisor, thought partner, and integrator across the SE leadership team. - Influence and orchestrate across the organization without relying on positional authority. Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in program management, business operations, strategy, or chief of staff roles — preferably at a senior level within a global enterprise SaaS or technology organization. - Proven track record of partnering with senior executives to drive strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and organizational change. - Experience working in or closely with a Presales, Solutions Engineering, or GTM field organization strongly preferred. - Demonstrated ability to establish operational cadences and processes and drive continuous improvement at scale. - Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from inception through execution in a fast-moving, distributed environment. - Strong background in executive communications, including all-hands presentations, leadership narratives, and cross-functional messaging. - Experience supporting headcount planning, capacity modeling, and executive reporting in partnership with Finance and Operations teams.
