Role Description A Senior Software Engineer, DevOps is responsible for designing, building, and operating the cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform capabilities that power Unite Us products. This role partners closely with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable systems while driving improvements in infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, security, and operational excellence. What You'll Do - Architect and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure solutions that align with industry best practices, security standards, and regulatory requirements. - Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to ensure repeatable, scalable, and auditable infrastructure deployments. - Drive improvements to CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, and infrastructure automation across engineering. - Monitor, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure, networking, performance, availability, reliability, and cost efficiency. - Define and improve service reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident response, root cause analysis, and capacity planning. - Champion DevSecOps practices by implementing security controls, vulnerability management, secrets management, infrastructure hardening, and least-privilege access principles. - Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and platform issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Identify, prioritize, and lead remediation of systemic infrastructure challenges and technical debt. - Support engineering teams through enablement initiatives, day-to-day operational requests, and incident response. - Create and maintain documentation, playbooks, and technical resources that promote consistency and knowledge sharing. - Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance in cloud technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, security, and DevOps practices. - Partner with cross-functional teams to align platform strategy, architecture, security, and operational goals. - Establish and promote DevOps standards, security best practices, and operational excellence across the organization. - Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and support production incident response and resolution. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps-focused roles. - Experience designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-native infrastructure and automation solutions. - Proven success driving infrastructure standardization, platform improvements, tool consolidation, and technical debt reduction. - Experience implementing security best practices including IAM, network security, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure hardening. - Experience operating and supporting highly available production systems in cloud environments. - Experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement. - Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across cross-functional teams. - Proficiency with command-line tools, Linux-based systems, and source control platforms such as Git. - Experience developing and maintaining scripts and automation solutions using Python, Bash, or similar languages. - Familiarity with the following technologies, with deep expertise in one or more. - Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience preferred. • Ticket Support and Management: Provide customer support via Zendesk and adhere to SLAs. Assist in configuring and maintaining AWS infrastructure environments (ECS, EKS). • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) modules using Terraform/Ansible under the guidance of senior engineers. • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for the team’s applications. • Monitor applications and infrastructure, responding to low-complexity alerts and incidents. • Support automation of deployment processes and repetitive operational tasks. • Maintain code analysis (SonarQube) and security (ZAP Proxy) tools integrated into pipelines. • Document procedures, runbooks, and configuration changes. • Collaborate with development teams to resolve build, deployment, and environment issues.

Role Description This role is contingent with a projected start date of 1 OCT 2026. Remote Position. The DevSecOps Engineer is part of a skilled IT team that will work independently and collectively with other engineers to identify and test potential enhancements and resolve technical issues with the rapid scaling into production of a logistics middleware application. Essential Functions: - Perform software integration tasks, including scripting, systems analysis, requirements gathering, testing, and documentation. - Provide support to technical writers and testers, manage configuration and system maintenance, utilize source code control to track and safeguard changes to the codebase, and apply software updates. - Collaboratively design, develop, and implement custom ETL scripts while supporting software products as required. - Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across the entire pipeline. - Engage directly with customers to create ingestion feeds for unique systems, demonstrating the ability to devise solutions with minimal prior documentation or details about these systems. - Perform infrastructure management functions, including designing, architecting, and implementing scalable infrastructure across multiple networks and application nodes using DevSecOps practices. - Oversee containerization efforts with tools such as HELM and Kubernetes and manage orchestration processes. - Upgrade and migrate applications to containerized environments to enable scalability and transition to a microservices architecture. - Document infrastructure administration, including creation, management, and decommissioning procedures. - Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications - Knowledge of DevSecOps processes including Infrastructure as Code using HELM. - Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration, including networking, using Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes. - Experience with the full DataOps lifecycle including ingestion and ETL processes into databases. - Linux System administration knowledge: know the Linux command line, service management, software configuration concepts in lieu of virtual machine constraints. - Ability to convert data and fix malformed data. This requires an understanding of XML, JSON, and regular expressions. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Professional manner and a strong ethical code. - Exceptional time management and ability to multitask. Requirements - A bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience in performing similar or related work is required. Four years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. - Two years' experience may be substituted for a degree. - Must be able to work 9-5 PM EST Monday-Friday as these are the customer’s core support hours. - Possible prolonged periods of stationary work. - Full-time position. - Less than 5% travel. - Secret clearance required for this role.
