Responsibilities - Build and maintain internal data pipelines that ingest, clean, validate, and centralize market, weather, pricing, operational, and settlement data from external and internal sources. - Develop and manage scalable datasets and analytical tools that support asset optimization, cash trading, and portfolio-risk monitoring. - Query and analyze large time-series datasets to identify pricing patterns, congestion trends, basis exposure, volatility drivers, and other market signals relevant to TGE’s assets. - Automate recurring workflows and reporting processes using SQL, Python, and related tools to reduce manual effort and improve speed, consistency, and control. - Create dashboards and reports that provide internal stakeholders with clear visibility into market conditions, portfolio performance, and key commercial risk indicators. - Support trading and asset-management decisions through quantitative analysis, scenario evaluation, and market intelligence. - Assist with settlement validation, collateral awareness, and post-trade or post-dispatch performance analysis. - Support onboarding of new assets, markets, and data sources by helping establish reporting structures, commercial views, and monitoring frameworks. - Monitor evolving ISO/RTO market rules, regulatory developments, and emerging market opportunities affecting BESS, solar, and related commercial strategies. - Work closely with Asset Management, trading, operations, finance, and third-party counterparties to ensure analytical work supports practical commercial execution. - Contribute to the development of a disciplined, scalable internal analytics capability that supports TGE’s broader commercial buildout. - Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in power markets, asset optimization, commercial asset management, market operations, trading analytics, or related wholesale energy-market activity. - Strong SQL skills and demonstrated experience using Python, including libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, for data analysis, automation, and reporting. - Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets and convert raw information into useful commercial insight. - Experience building or supporting data workflows, automated reporting, or analytical tools used in business decision-making. - Strong understanding of core wholesale power-market concepts, including LMPs, Day-Ahead and Real-Time markets, congestion, basis risk, and ancillary services. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately under time pressure. - Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical findings in a clear, concise business format. - Ability to work effectively across commercial, operational, and financial teams. Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting BESS bidding, renewable asset optimization, or cash-market trading activity. - Familiarity with ISO/RTO markets such as CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, or MISO. - Experience with market-modeling, trading, or scheduling tools such as Dayzer, PROMOD, or similar platforms. - Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other business-intelligence / visualization tools. - Experience supporting hedge analysis, settlement review, collateral monitoring, or P&L attribution. - Working knowledge of VBA, statistical methods, or predictive modeling techniques relevant to power-market analysis. Attributes for Success - Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious. - Able to connect technical analysis to practical commercial outcomes. - Strong sense of ownership and accountability. - Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment. - Able to balance rigor, speed, and business relevance. - Interested in developing into a deeper commercial market and asset-optimization role over time.
