Role Description Our Vertical Account Executive (VAE) is responsible for targeting, acquiring and closing high value revenue opportunities at local and regional based companies within the assigned vertical. This position requires a “hunter” approach as they will develop relationships with Packaging, Operations and Procurement decision makers at targeted accounts that align with the Veritiv Strategy for the assigned vertical. Once the opportunity is closed and is effectively onboarded, the VAE will hand off management of the relationship to our Sales and Program Management teams. Qualifications - 7-10 years proven business development in consumer packaged goods, product development/marketing agency, and/or specialty retail, required. - Experience in development, implementation, successful execution of plans to generate new business in targeted market segments and prospects. - Develops close relationships with key executives and relevant decision makers at customer accounts and continues to look for new opportunities – “land and expand”. - Experience in selling to accounts within the kitting, co-packing and retail markets. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. - Client centric focus. - Tenacious, Ownership mindset and Competitive - strong drive for results. - Strong financial acumen and analysis. - Knowledge of CRM and project management tools to drive process and reporting. - Ability to travel up to 50% is required for this position. Requirements - 5-10 years of related job experience. - Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. - Ability to work quickly and efficiently. - Basic experience of simple office/operational systems. - Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required. - Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives. - Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework. - Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful). - Strong planning and organization skills are required.
