Role Description IBMC is proudly assisting an international, high-growth Digital Commerce Powerhouse & Technology Group in hiring an elite, visionary Senior / Lead Shopify Developer. Our client specializes in architecting, launching, and scaling high-performance, multi-million dollar global brands using cutting-edge commerce technology. We are seeking a heavyweight, highly strategic Senior Shopify Developer with 6 to 10 years of deep, specialized ecommerce engineering experience. In this senior technical role, you will own the architectural roadmap of global Shopify Plus stores and complex headless commerce ecosystems. - Architect, scale, and maintain high-volume Shopify Plus stores using Liquid, advanced JavaScript (ES6+), React, and GraphQL. - Lead the strategy, development, and deployment of headless architectures using Shopify Hydrogen + Remix/Oxygen or advanced Next.js frameworks. - Build secure, high-performance custom Shopify Apps and scalable middleware (Node.js/TypeScript) to process complex data webhooks and background jobs. - Take full ownership of migrating legacy scripts and designing advanced, secure checkout logic using Shopify Checkout Extensibility and Shopify Functions. - Architect seamless API integrations between Shopify and enterprise-level external systems, including ERPs (SAP, NetSuite), CRMs, and complex PIM (Product Information Management) systems. - Own Core Web Vitals, technical SEO health, and server-side optimization to ensure peak loading speeds during global high-traffic sales events (e.g., Black Friday). - Establish clean code standards, lead comprehensive code reviews, manage CI/CD pipelines, and maintain technical documentation to ensure long-term system scalability. Qualifications - 6–10 years of professional experience in fullstack software engineering, with a strict, proven focus on enterprise-level Shopify / Ecommerce platforms. - Master-level expertise in the Shopify Plus ecosystem, Liquid, Shopify Theme architecture, and Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL). - Elite proficiency in React, TypeScript, Node.js, and modern serverless/cloud hosting environments. Solid experience with Hydrogen or Next.js is mandatory. - Proven, hands-on experience implementing Checkout Extensibility and writing custom business logic via Shopify Functions. - Extensive track record of connecting complex global webhooks and integrating robust third-party ERP/PIM systems. - Strong expertise in Git workflows, CI/CD setup, testing frameworks (Jest/Cypress), and agile engineering practices. - Fluent, professional English (written and spoken) for high-level technical alignment and strategic reporting.
