Atmospheric Modeling Scientist
JANUS Research Group
• Contribute to ongoing research using Lagrangian modeling to understand sources and sinks of trace gases and other air pollutants, through independent completion of both externally and self-directed research tasks • Expand existing research interests and capabilities beyond this initial project's immediate goals • Regularly develop innovative techniques to apply existing satellite and model datasets, or create new observational datasets, to answer scientific questions • Show adaptability in performing research tasks outside their immediate research area as needed with minimal spin-up time • Develop their own externally funded research program through research grant proposals and contracts with non-profit and industry clients
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. in atmospheric science or related fields
- Direct experience as described in Job Description above
- Experience in graduate school will be evaluated if it was a major focus of the candidates dissertation
- Excellent programming skills in Fortran, Python, and/or other common languages
- Skilled in scientific communication, including writing and public speaking
- Willing to travel to scientific conferences to present research and actively engage with the scientific community
- Works well independently and in a diverse team
- Strong leadership and people skills
- Able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Position Responsibilities includes but are not limited to: - Develop and maintain a working knowledge of instrumentation, products, and techniques manufactured and/or distributed by EUROIMMUN US. - Successfully complete assigned implementation milestones to meet adherence of project timelines. - Coordinate with Field Service and assist, if necessary, with instrument installations. - Support, and where necessary lead, calls with customer during implementation and go live process. - Assist with interface to customer's Laboratory Information System. - Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and workshops for customers to showcase the features and capabilities of EUROIMMUN products. - Build and maintain relationships with customers by understanding their needs, providing technical solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction. - Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical support during the sales process, including pre-sales presentations and post-sales support. - Document and share technical information, including customer feedback, product issues, and solutions, to ensure continuous improvement of products and services. - Travel to customer sites, conferences, workshops, and seminars to provide on site support, presentations, and training. - Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, application notes and educational materials to support customer's use of EUROIMMUN US products. - Maintain weekly administrative duties, such as project updates, customer activities, travel expenses and quality requirements. Basic Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree - 3+ years lab experience and familiarity with immunofluorescence, ELISA and/or chemiluminescence - Must have a valid driver's license and a passport. Preferred Requirements: - A BS in Life Sciences, Biomedical engineering and/or technical discipline; or equivalent military training and experience, with emphasis on instrumentation and computers. - Four or more years' experience as a field service representative, Lab MT, or related field preferred - Technically proficient in running IVD assays and an understanding the basis for these assays - Experience with LIS connectivity (HL7, ASTM) preferred - Well-organized, able to function independently, with a minimum of supervision - Comfortable in presenting training and information seminars to customers - Customer-oriented and strong interpersonal skills - Exhibits high level of critical thinking abilities - Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), experience with CRM software (preferably Salesforce) and Quality Management software. - Willingness to travel up to 70% within the US. Occasional international travel may be required. The pay range for this full-time position is a salary $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 USD Annually. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position.
