Job Summary Farmers (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Agile Dev Team Member V to provide expertise in designing and supporting business applications aligned with business processes and working with Farmers’ legacy mainframe billing system (ARS) and other platforms like FSCD, requiring strong functional and technical insurance billing knowledge. Specific duties include: review and validate the detailed technical design for business applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements; perform quality review checks as deemed appropriate and provide support with implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues and confirming business validation up times; identifying the description of the need to migrate code elements through the form of User Stories; working with Production Support team to ensure they have a handoff from a team level (lower environments to our production environments); validating suppliers’ estimates; estimating rough order of magnitude for the level of effort/cost of new application functionality; specifying/recommending integration and parallel testing criteria. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the US. with occasional travel to the headquarters. Position requires a 3 or 4-year Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Science, Physics, or a closely related field of study, plus 7 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Solution Engineer, or similar position providing expertise in designing and supporting business applications. Must have 7 years of experience with mainframe skills including CICS, VSAM, JCL, COBOL, DB2, MQ Series, REXX, MVS, Easytrieve, and CA SAR. Must also have 4 years of experience with each of the following: solution design and subject matter analysis of insurance applications; and insurance domain experience involving mentoring other team members and overseeing development.
