Role Description The Sr. Manager Content Strategy & Operations leads the production center responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining the company's full content catalog. Content here is defined broadly: - Digital learning courses - Student manuals - Instructor guides - Presentations - Printed regulatory publications - Informational pamphlets - Digitized information assets (maps, reference materials) - Other print formats (hard cards, job aids, etc.) This is a high-volume, multi-format production environment. The right leader brings operational excellence, a genuine love of content craft, and the hunger to use AI and modern tooling to do more and do it better, without just doing it faster. This role oversees a multidisciplinary team including editors, graphic designers, print fulfillment, and a flex-pool of creative resources. The Sr. Manager is responsible for ensuring content is produced on time, on brand, and at scale, while continuously improving workflows, quality standards, and team capability. This role partners closely with the Sr Manager of Program Delivery and the broader Commercial team to align content output with client objectives and organizational priorities. You are the kind of person who looks at a backlog of 30 content requests, new builds, course revisions, printed instruction guides, digital adaptations, and feels a quiet thrill rather than dread. You are passionate about digital learning, love the craft of content creation, and you're obsessed with finding smarter ways to do it. You believe AI isn't just a speed tool, it's a creativity enabler, a quality multiplier, and a way to make learning experiences that feel more personal, not less. You're organized without being rigid, fast without being sloppy, and you bring just enough creative energy to make the work feel alive even when the volume is high. If this sounds like how you operate, keep reading. You must reside in one of these US states: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NV, OR, PA, RI, TX, VA, VT, WI, or one of these provinces in Canada: Ontario. Qualifications - 7+ years of experience in content production, editorial operations, or learning development, with at least 3 years in a management role. - Hands-on, current experience with AI content tools — you use them daily, not occasionally, and you have opinions about what works. - Experience running high-volume, multi-track production environments — comfortable with 10+ concurrent projects across different formats and stages. - Strong project management discipline: you've built or significantly improved a production workflow, and you can point to the before and after. - Direct experience managing multi-format content: digital courses, print publications, instructional materials — not just one format type. - Eye for quality across both content and design — you know when something looks off and you know how to fix it. - Familiarity with instructional design principles and learning standards (SCORM, xAPI, accessibility) is a strong plus. - Experience implementing and managing content operations tools and digital asset management systems. - Technically comfortable: not a developer, but not intimidated by tools, integrations, or working alongside engineering. - Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. - Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Requirements - Lead and manage the full content operations function, including editorial, graphic design, print fulfillment, learning and experience design, and the flex pool. - Design and optimize production workflow across all content tracks: new course builds, live course revisions, print production, and digital asset creation. - Establish and enforce content quality standards, adhere to brand guidelines, and editorial governance across all projects and client programs. - Manage capacity planning and build and manage a flexible staffing model — internal team, contract writers and designers, and AI-assisted production — that scales with demand. - Partner with Client Program Managers and the Sr Manager of Program Delivery to scope content requirements, set timelines, and align on deliverables. - Oversee the development of content strategy, including messaging frameworks, content calendars, and channel strategies that drive measurable client outcomes, with oversight of content strategy resources as the team scales. - Optimize content based on audience insights and performance data. - Lead the team's adoption of AI tools for content drafting, editing, formatting, layout, and adaptation across formats. - Build a culture of experimentation on the team — small tests, fast learning, smart scaling of what works. - Implement and manage content operations technology, including digital asset management systems, project management tools, and production platforms. - Track and report on content production metrics, including throughput, quality scores, turnaround times, and resource utilization. - Foster a collaborative, creative team culture that values innovation, continuous learning, and professional development. - Create an environment where high volume and high quality are not in conflict. - Manage the content operations budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery without compromising quality. Benefits - In addition to a competitive salary and annual bonus, we offer these great benefits: - We are a fully distributed company – unless specifically indicated in the job description, this is a work from home position. - Employer matched 401(k). - Medical/Dental/Vision insurance with generous employer contributions (including HSA). - Maternity and Paternity leave and benefits. - Three weeks of paid vacation, 12 paid holidays, a paid community service day, and a flexible work schedule. - Annual wellness allowance, as well as a paid mental health day once a year for when you need it. - Automatic WFH contribution to each paycheck. - Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
