Job Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

  • Experience with modern electronic system design, including high-performance FPGAs, Flash and DDR memory interfaces
  • Knowledge in schematic capture, PCB layout support, signal integrity analysis, and validation of FPGA-based digital and mixed-signal systems
  • Proficient in electronic design and simulation tools such as Mentor Xpedition, SPICE-based simulators, MATLAB, and HyperLynx SI

Role Description WSP is currently initiating a search for a Principal Protection Electrical Engineer with a Protective Relaying emphasis for our Orlando, FL office. The ability to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location will be considered. Be involved in projects with our Electrical Studies, SCADA, and Protection (ESSP) team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges. The successful applicant will have a direct role in the design, engineering, and studies of protection systems for equipment on the bulk power system, including: - Protection of substations - Transmission lines - Generators - Renewables - Distribution systems Your Impact: - Extensive knowledge, proven experience, and advanced proficiency with most of the items listed below. - Drive new business, make strategic decisions, and foster innovation across the firm. - Protective Relaying: Symmetrical component analysis, protection philosophy development, relay settings, and integration with SCADA systems. - Protection Analyses: Electrical model development, short circuit, time-current coordination, arc flash, NERC compliance, and event analysis. - Team Leadership: Lead teams on client projects to meet the scope, schedule, and budget. Role Description The Electrical Commissioning Agent II leads with supervision at times and executes commissioning of data center critical systems including generators, switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, and various other equipment.
