Employee Relations Generalist

• Support the Michael Kors Retail North America team, developing effective relationships with team members and people leaders to promote positive employee relations. • Provide consultation, guidance, and coaching solutions to field teams to ensure the appropriate handling and resolution of employee relations issues and advise on policies and procedures. • Conduct investigations in response to employee complaints, tracking cases through internal case management software. • Recommend and approve performance management action plans in partnership with the legal department. • Manage the disciplinary process for employees and administer corrective action in partnership with field leadership. • Gather and analyze employee relations data and help to identify trends. • Identify training and development needs to enhance employee experience and performance. • Maintain compliance and understanding with federal and state regulations concerning employment practices. • Conduct exit interviews of voluntary terminations; analyze trends and recommend solutions. • Produce reporting on exit interviews, hotline calls, and corrective action documents. • Handle confidential information appropriately and escalate issues as needed. • Support company-wide global HR initiatives. • Assist in special projects when necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years of progressive HR experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, or related HR function
  • Experience in handling employee relations issues and dealing with labor laws
  • Knowledge and practical application of all HR discipline and practices
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and resolve conflict
  • Ability to be analytical and problem solve
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
