• Support the accurate pricing and planning of decorative finish projects across residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors. • Review architectural and construction documentation, identifying specified finishes. • Complete accurate measurements using CostX software. • Produce clear 3D renders to support onsite installation teams. • Follow internal estimating procedures and finishing schedules. • Assist in preparing accurate project quotations and cost estimates. • Identify comparable or alternative finishes where substitutions are required. • Ensure all measurements, quantities, and project details are accurately documented. • Collaborate with operations and project teams to support smooth project delivery. • Must be capable of working independently and managing multiple tenders simultaneously with minimal supervision. • Review tender packages and identify missing information, ambiguities, and scope risks. • Prepare tender clarifications and RFIs where required. • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing. • Maintain estimating databases, production rates, and pricing schedules.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction or finishing industry
- Advanced CostX proficiency is essential, including digital take-offs, dimension groups and workbooks.
- Experience using Simpro or similar job management software is essential.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
- Experience interpreting architectural drawings and finish schedules
- Ability to produce accurate measurements and quantity take-offs
- Understanding of construction materials, finishes, and installation processes
- Experience creating or interpreting 3D renders or visual project references preferred
- Demonstrated experience in preparing quotes independently for large projects ranging from $50,000 to $5M+, both domestic and commercial spaces. Including retail, restaurants and hotels.
- Experience preparing estimates for Australian construction projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Australian building terminology, documentation standards, and construction practices.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to communicate confidently with builders, architects, designers, suppliers, and internal project teams.
