Speech-to-Text Editor
Opus 2
Role Description Opus 2 is seeking an enthusiastic Speech-to-Text Editor to join our Speech-to-Text team. The successful candidate will work on transcripts of court hearings, public inquiries, arbitrations, and tribunals, as well as meetings, interviews, and telephone calls. The role is fully remote, allowing involvement in high-profile cases globally. - Ensure transcripts are produced to the requisite standard by following existing quality control guidelines. - Immerse yourself in the world of court reporting and attend virtual hearings to familiarize with legal jargon. - Receive comprehensive training in transcript production and editing via the Opus 2 Speech-to-Text Editing Suite. Qualifications - Self-motivated and enthusiastic. - Flexible and able to work in a team. - Ability to maintain focus during prolonged periods of editing. - Extremely high standard of written and spoken English. - Ability to proofread and proficient in researching. - High attention to detail. - Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients. - Confident with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Outlook. - Typing speed of 50wpm minimum (from audio). Requirements - Previous transcription, editing, or proofreading experience. - A degree is preferred but not required; equivalent practical experience is equally valued.
