Key Responsibilities - Accounting Operations - Own accounts payable and receivable end to end, ensuring payments and collections are accurate and on time. - Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies promptly. - Manage the monthly close process from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met. - Reporting - Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages that clearly communicate financial performance. - Build standard and ad hoc reports to support leadership's day-to-day decisions. - Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and reviews. - Process & Improvement - Provide expense management oversight and enforce sound accounting controls. - Track key operational and financial metrics, surfacing issues proactively. - Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems. Qualifications - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting and monthly close. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and pivot tables. - Strong attention to detail and a track record of keeping accurate, reconciled books. - Excellent written and verbal communication, with proven success working in a remote team. - Ability to work consistent PST business hours. Preferred Qualifications - CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification. - Experience in distribution, wholesale, supply chain, or a high-transaction-volume business. - Experience with accounting software implementation or process improvement. Ideal Candidate Profile You are highly organized and take full ownership of the accounting function without needing close oversight. You are detail-oriented and reliable, the kind of person who catches errors before they become problems. You communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders, you work well independently in a fully remote setting, and you keep the close on schedule every month.
