Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, DevOps, and compliance-focused environments. This role combines deep technical engineering responsibilities with team leadership, mentorship, and operational ownership within regulated cloud ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across AWS/Azure environments, Terraform automation, DevOps processes, and security/compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, HIPAA, or HITRUST. Key Responsibilities - Spend approximately 70% of time on hands-on engineering tasks including cloud deployments, infrastructure automation, scripting, and tooling development - Allocate around 30% of time to technical leadership, mentoring engineers, managing escalations, and ensuring delivery quality - Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical and operational issues - Drive engineering quality standards, compliance adherence, and project milestone alignment - Collaborate with architecture and consulting teams to identify and mitigate technical and compliance risks - Coordinate day-to-day engineering activities, resource planning, and project execution timelines - Own Jira processes end-to-end including backlog management, ticket creation, acceptance criteria, dependency mapping, and prioritization - Lead sprint planning activities, dependency sequencing, and delivery readiness reviews - Work closely with DevOps workflows including Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, policy-as-code, and change management practices Qualifications - Strong technical expertise across AWS, Azure, networking, identity management (Entra ID, Intune, Defender), and security/compliance controls - Hands-on experience with Terraform and cloud infrastructure automation - Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment orchestration - Excellent communication, documentation, leadership, and client-facing skills - Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities within compliance-sensitive environments - Ability to balance hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities Requirements - 10+ years of experience implementing or supporting cloud-based solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP - Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments - Proven success building automation scripts, tooling, and deployment frameworks - Prior experience handling critical production escalations and high-severity incidents - Experience mentoring engineering teams and driving technical delivery excellence Required Certifications - Professional or Expert-level certification in AWS, Azure, or GCP Preferred Qualifications - Experience with FedRAMP, NIST, HIPAA, HITRUST, or DoD environments - Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIG standards - Experience with Ansible, GitLab/GitHub automation workflows - Terraform certifications - Cloud security certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP
