Role Description The University Advisor provides university advising services to Hudson Global Scholars students. The ideal candidate has experience in university counseling and/or higher education recruitment. The advisor will be responsible for meeting with students and their parents, guiding the university application process, and supporting students’ post-secondary plans with a focus on entry to US and other English-speaking institutions of higher education. This position will primarily work with an international student population. - This is a 100% remote role. The individual may be based anywhere in the US. Must be available to meet with international students. Sessions with students are expected to be scheduled between 9 AM and 2 PM EDT. Essential Job Functions - Manage student advising cases as assigned - Develop and share expertise on the universities included in the HGS university portfolio - Participate in trainings and team meetings to stay updated on admissions trends and university requirements. - Advise and support high school students and their families in the university counseling journey, including (not limited to): - Identifying potential university and academic programs - Completing applications - Considering financial parameters - Identifying scholarship opportunities - Complying with admissions policies - Explaining student visa procedures - Conduct outreach to students and families including phone calls, virtual meetings, emails, and presentations. - Facilitate virtual group presentations and student activities to promote and engage students in the university advising program. - Create, maintain, and monitor records, including college admissions data, as well as enter and validate data in multiple systems. - Other duties as assigned Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, school counseling, or related field required.
