Role Description As an Engineer at StackAdapt, you will be directly involved in the development of our advertising platform, producing production level code that will have a direct impact on the success of our product. You will work with large data sets and have exposure to modern tech stacks such as GoLang, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka and various data stores (Snowflake, TiDB/TiKV, RocksDB and more). What You'll Be Doing - Be a significant individual contributor and key asset in delivering critical projects that ultimately bring value to our customers. - Mentor the team and lead by example to uphold software development best-practices in addition to conducting rigorous code and tech spec reviews. - Plays a key role in consistently advising the team on pragmatic technical approaches to problems that encourage engineering excellence and developer happiness. - Plans ahead by strategically architecting scalable web APIs, component libraries and backend systems that serve the team roadmap goals. - Collaborate with stakeholders and other senior engineers across the organization to identify and solve technical challenges that drive impact across teams. - Advise teams on technical debt consolidation in ways that efficiently service our business needs. - Identify bottle-necks and general system wide performance issues and offer actionable solutions to address them. - Conduct technical interviews to attract and identify potential high performing candidates. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience building highly scalable backend systems. - Knowledge of our full-stack technologies including GoLang, AWS, Kubernetes and Kafka. - Prior experience in ad tech is an asset. - Extensive experience writing code with unit tests and end-to-end tests. - Experience collaborating closely with Product & Design to design, implement and iterate on high impact end-to-end product experiences. - Experience working with large data sets. - An appetite for using AI as a tool to help in unpacking complexity and simplifying it wherever possible. • Design, develop, and evolve fullstack applications, including robust, secure, and scalable Java backend APIs and rich, responsive user interfaces in Angular. • Work across the entire software lifecycle: conception, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring, covering both server-side and client-side. • Ensure application of Clean Architecture, Clean Code, SOLID principles, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and design patterns on both sides of the application. • Lead and support TDD, BDD, and code review practices, fostering quality and continuous learning. • Integrate data systems using relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases. • Support strategic, high-impact architectural decisions, including frontend-backend communication. • Work in an agile environment (Scrum/Kanban) with a strong sense of urgency and ownership. • Mentor and support less experienced engineers, serving as a fullstack technical reference. • Actively participate in evolving engineering practices, automation, and observability. • Provide maintenance and evolution for legacy applications, ensuring stability, bug fixes, and continuous modernization.

• Develop and evolve Kotlin microservices with a focus on robustness, performance and scalability. • Implement end-to-end integrations with financial institutions' APIs — interpreting bank manuals and technical specifications and translating them into reliable solutions. • Model domain-driven solutions (DDD) and manage communication between services (REST and event-driven patterns). • Act as a partner to Product, providing technical perspective to refine requirements and anticipate gaps. • Ensure security, observability and reliability from the design stage; participate in code reviews and in production incident resolution.
