Job Description
Copywriter
OLIVER Agency - North America
Role Description As a mid-level Copywriter, you'll independently produce high-quality copy across a broad range of social and paid media formats — from punchy paid social ads and dark posts to longer-form scripts and campaign concepts. You understand that social copy is a discipline in its own right: every character counts, every platform has its own rhythm, and the best copy doesn't feel like advertising at all. You're as comfortable writing a six-word paid post as you are scripting a thirty-second video, and you bring the same rigour to both. - Write compelling, platform-native copy across organic social, paid media, dark posts, video scripts, and campaign assets for a leading technology brand. - Develop copy concepts that align with creative briefs and social strategy, working closely with art directors and social specialists. - Produce bilingual copy in English and French Canadian — adapting tone, cultural references, and messaging for each audience, not just translating between them. - Write and adapt paid media copy across multiple formats — static ads, carousels, video captions, pre-roll scripts — with a clear understanding of performance objectives. - Craft dark post copy that feels authentic and targeted, tailored to specific audience segments and campaign goals. - Collaborate with the broader creative team on campaign ideation, contributing copy thinking from brief through to delivery. - Review and self-edit copy to a high standard before submission — accuracy, tone, brand voice, and platform conventions. - Stay close to social platform developments, cultural moments, and audience behaviour to keep copy relevant and timely. - Apply Gen AI tools to accelerate ideation, drafting, and copy variation — while maintaining human judgement and brand voice throughout. Qualifications - Proven copywriting ability across social media and paid media formats — a portfolio that demonstrates range, platform fluency, and strong conceptual thinking. - Deep understanding of how copy works differently across platforms: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Meta paid, and beyond. - Experience writing paid media copy and dark posts — understanding targeting logic, audience segmentation, and the relationship between copy and performance. - Experience writing video scripts for short-form social content. - Professional proficiency in both English and French Canadian — able to write with cultural authenticity in both languages, not just linguistic accuracy. - Strong self-editing skills and a high bar for quality — grammar, tone, brand voice, and platform conventions. - Collaborative working style: able to take and incorporate feedback, work across disciplines, and contribute to a creative team. Requirements - Req ID: 17903 - #LI-JW1 - #LI-MIDSENIOR Benefits - Salary Range: $80,750 — $90,250 CAD Company Description OLIVER, a part of the Brandtech Group, is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive working environment where all employees are encouraged to reach their full potential, and individual differences are valued and respected.
