This area owns the foundational layer of infrastructure that underpins all other infrastructure and application services at Figma. The Foundation team under Server Platform is Infrastructure's infrastructure. This team enables the efficient operation and rapid development of reliable infrastructure at Figma through opinionated platforms. We are building the V2 of Infrastructure and setting key initiatives that will set the tone for infrastructure for the next half decade. We're looking for thoughtful and technical leaders with experience focused on designing the next generation edge and network to handle our growing customer traffic and services. This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States. Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range. • Build Across the Stack: Develop modern frontend applications using TypeScript and React. Design and implement backend services in Python and Go. Build clean, well-tested APIs that power complex engineering workflows. Contribute to system architecture with an eye toward scalability, reliability, and security. • Solve Real Customer Problems: Engage directly with product managers, designers, and occasionally customers to understand real-world workflows. Translate ambiguous user needs into thoughtful technical solutions. Iterate quickly, validate assumptions, and refine features based on feedback. • Improve Developer & AI Tooling: Build internal and customer-facing developer tools, SDKs, and workflow automation systems. Integrate AI capabilities (LLMs, retrieval systems, copilots) into product experiences. Help improve CI/CD, local development environments, and engineering productivity. • Operate in Mission-Critical Environments: Build systems that function reliably in secure, regulated, or air-gapped settings. Balance speed with correctness, performance, and long-term maintainability.

• Take the lead in defining iOS architecture roadmap, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices in mobile development. • Help drive efforts to modernize and optimize iOS application, focusing on scalability, performance, and maintainability. • Work to maintain alignment across the iOS development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence. • Build POCs, research new frameworks and technologies, evaluate third-party SDKs, and provide data-driven recommendations to enhance mobile experience. • Tackle complex challenges in app performance, concurrency, and memory management, ensuring a seamless user experience. • Mentor less-experienced developers and conduct thorough code reviews, providing clear, constructive feedback. • Implement new features, refactor existing code, and lead the adoption of Swift and SwiftUI best practices. • Work with CoreData, Combine, StoreKit, and other Apple frameworks, integrating with RESTful APIs and third-party services. • Write unit and UI tests to maintain app reliability and stability, ensuring high-quality software releases. • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless, user-centric experiences. • Optimize and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and improve development workflows. • Lead efforts in accessibility (A11y) to ensure compliance with WCAG and Apple’s accessibility guidelines. • Implement and optimize app security best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards like GDPR and SOC 2. • Contribute to App Store submission and review processes, ensuring compliance with Apple’s guidelines and policies. • Analyze app analytics and performance metrics, using tools like Firebase, Instabug, and Xcode Instruments to drive data-driven improvements. • Design and implement a modular architecture, breaking the app into independent, reusable modules to improve scalability, maintainability, and parallel development efficiency.
