Job Description

Underwriting Team Lead

Longbridge Financial, LLC (NMLS# 957935)

• Accurately evaluate and underwrite HECM and/or Proprietary reverse mortgage loan files submitted by retail and wholesale production channels, in accordance with company policy and FHA HECM and Platinum program guidelines. • Supervise a team of underwriters and monitor team performance for the review and decisioning of Reverse Mortgage loans • Conduct second level reviews • Assist as needed to resolve escalation questions • Assist in hiring and training underwriters • Collaborate with underwriters, processors, sales, and external brokers to assist with structuring Reverse transactions • Review underwriting decisions and conditions, and may underwrite loans as needed • Have a thorough knowledge of HECM and/or Proprietary Reverse underwriting guidelines and constantly staying on top of any changes • Work closely with Underwriting Management to implement plans, improve consistency, efficiency, and shorten turn times.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of recent HECM and/or Proprietary mortgage underwriting experience
  • DE Certification required
  • Ability and desire to lead and mentor a team
  • Ability to prioritize and make quick decisions
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude and be productive when under pressure and under tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to interpret and communicate regulatory guidance
  • Strong attention to detail, superior analytical skills, data driven mentality
  • Excellent customer service skills including both verbal and written communication
