Role Description Velvet Elk Lounge is looking for a Talent Buyer / Booking Manager to lead our live music program. This is a remote position. What You’ll Own: - Source, negotiate, and confirm touring and headliner acts - Build a calendar that balances draw, brand fit, and venue identity - we’re looking for artists who create real pull and elevate the room, not just fill a date - Maintain and grow relationships with agents and artist representation - Light coordination with our events/catering lead to keep the full calendar aligned - Collaborate on booking strategy - outside of a small number of pre-announced prime music dates that are yours to book independently, this is a partnership, not a solo call What Success Looks Like: - 2-3 sold-out shows per week (200 tickets @ $15 - $50 depending on act) - Bookings that build the brand, not just sell tickets - headliners and acts that create genuine draw and reinforce Velvet Elk as a destination - Fully remote though being around for shows is fun and encouraged! - Two 45-minute planning meetings per month (currently Wednesdays, flexible based on schedule) Qualifications - Established relationships with agents and touring artists - this role favors existing industry connections over a cold start - Someone who thinks about programming strategically, not just transactionally - Strong communicator who can work independently but stay aligned with venue leadership Company Description Velvet Elk is a music and cultural destination in the heart of Boulder, CO - a place people choose to go, not just somewhere they end up because a show is happening. This is a 6 months+ consulting engagement with an expected annual salary of $80,000-135,000.
