Follow best practices to enhance the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of individual and team work product. - Prepare the monthly and YTD financial reports and variance analyses. Build capabilities to provide additional business insights into financial and operational information, including flexible ad hoc reporting. - Establish tools/processes to assess ROI on firm financial commitments. What You'll Need to Be Successful: - 8+ years of relevant experience in finance and financial planning and analysis. - Direct experience with a firm’s operating budget in a professional services firm required. - Working knowledge of MS Office and advanced experience in MS Excel and with database systems and data modeling skills. - Advanced understanding of accounting and financial statements. - Experience with designing, maintaining, and documenting financial reports. - Strong knowledge with financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis. - Planful experience or other budgeting and financial reporting software experience. - Successful track record leading financial processes, systems, and analytics. - Strong knowledge and experience with accounting principles, financial analysis, and problem solving. - Highly collaborative, solutions oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-moving environment. - High attention to detail and solid organizational skills with excellent ability to communicate both visually and verbally. - The desire to take initiative and actively contribute to the team and the firm - The ability to communicate effectively and professionally. - Strong business acumen and the ability to learn the firm’s financial and operational functions. - The mindset to provide superior service. - The ability to commute to our office in San Francisco, to comply with our hybrid work policy of 2-3 days per week in office. - Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field. This position requires onsite work for a minimum of two days per week. When working remotely, PNNL employees are expected to maintain the same standards, requirements, and expectations of staff working onsite. When working remotely, staff should be ready to go onsite at short notice to meet business needs. This Finance & Accounting Professional position is split between the Tax and Insurance and Payroll Tax areas. The primary accountabilities are conformity with local, state, federal and international tax laws in order to ensure legal compliance and avoidance of fines and penalties as well as the protection of assets through proper risk management and insurance. This position will work closely with the Tax team and Payroll team at PNNL, as well as the Corporate Tax team and the Corporate Risk Manager at Battelle Columbus Operations (BCO). Job responsibilities may include: - Administer Foreign National staff onboarding and tax compliance processes by reviewing immigration and tax documentation, utilizing FNIS and Tax Navigator to determine tax residency status and treaty eligibility. Work with Payroll staff to ensure accurate Payroll tax withholding, reporting, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and international tax regulations. - Administer Tax and Insurance activities to ensure continual accountability and compliance in accordance with applicable IRS regulations and corporate policies.
