RESPONSIBILTIES - Provide process safety support to day-to-day manufacturing and projects. - Ensure process safety at Tippecanoe Laboratories throughout its lifecycle. - Identify and recommend improvements for process safety elements. - Support Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Facility Siting Analyses (FSA), and Incident Investigations. - Conduct process safety calculations using specialized software. - Collaborate on developing process safety standards with internal and external experts. - Provide process safety training to site. - Foster relationships with stakeholders to promote process safety. - Enhance competencies of site engineers and chemists in process safety. - Stay updated on process safety practices through external organizations and training. - Technical review of PHA reports and recommendation management. REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related Science (e.g., Chemistry, Environmental, Safety, Industrial Hygiene) with 5+ years of experience in a high hazard environment. - Profound knowledge of process safety principles and their practical application, including Process Hazard Analysis, Process Safety Management regulations, incident investigations, and relevant U.S. regulations. - Ability to make formal response to PHA recommendations and audit findings. - Skill in identifying and coordinating appropriate personnel (e.g., Plant Engineers, Process Engineers, Chemists) to achieve process safety goals. - Aptitude for identifying technical process weaknesses and devising effective solutions to address safety deficiencies. - Demonstrated proficiency in technical application, problem-solving, organization, project management, team leadership, computer skills, and communication (both written and verbal). - Understanding of chemical reaction hazards. - Capability to represent the site during regulatory inspections. - Proficiency in developing and implementing action plans to ensure sustainable compliance. - Availability to support continuous operations, including on-call availability during off-shift hours if . Role Description Bowman has an opportunity for an Acoustical Engineer to join our team remotely. Provide extensive knowledge/expertise in environmental acoustics, sound measurement, and noise control services to support public and private clients. Conduct technical analyses, develop mitigation strategies, and deliver expert guidance in support of permitting, compliance, policy development, and community engagement for a wide range of projects. Responsibilities - Receive general direction from senior technical leaders while independently managing assigned projects. - Provide technical leadership in sound measurement, analysis, and modeling. - Serve as liaison in acoustics, representing the firm with clients, regulators, and stakeholders. - Plan and execute noise impact assessments for mining, infrastructure, industrial, energy, transportation, commercial, and recreational projects. - Develop and apply acoustical models (e.g., CadnaA) to predict sound propagation under varied environmental conditions. - Design noise control and mitigation strategies for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on permitting, planning, and environmental studies. - Prepare and deliver technical reports, testimony, and public presentations to agencies, commissions, and courts. - Contribute to the development of policies and best practices for noise management. - Develop environmental noise analyses for industrial, utility, and transportation clients, to satisfy federal, state, or local acoustic criteria. - Travel to projects to conduct ambient and operating sound surveys. - Prepare technical deliverables, including environmental assessments, permitting documents, and compliance monitoring reports. - Provide training and mentoring to colleagues on acoustic tools and methodologies. - Stay current with advancements in noise control engineering, modeling techniques, and regulatory frameworks.
