Vice President – Strategic Accounts

Caris Life Sciences

• Own and manage executive-level relationships within strategic accounts, including CEOs, CMOs, COOs, CFOs, Cancer Center Directors, laboratory leadership, and health system administrators. • Develop, execute, and maintain enterprise-level account strategies spanning surgical workflows, pathology operations, and oncology care delivery. • Identify opportunities to integrate Caris molecular profiling and precision oncology solutions into clinical pathways, institutional standards of care, and system-wide protocols. • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) focused on performance, utilization trends, outcomes, and future growth initiatives. • Analyze account- and regional-level data to identify growth opportunities, adoption barriers, and productivity gaps. • Serve as a strategic partner to Regional Business Directors by aligning enterprise priorities with regional planning, prioritization, and tactical execution. • Provide indirect leadership, mentorship, and subject matter expertise to Oncology Account Executives, Oncology Case Managers, and supporting field roles. • Serve as the primary project owner for strategic initiatives, including complex account onboarding, precision medicine program launches, pathology-driven initiatives, workflow optimization, EMR integrations, and service improvements. • Coordinate cross-functional execution across Operations, Client Services, Laboratory, Medical Affairs, IT, and Marketing to ensure successful delivery of enterprise initiatives. • Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and success metrics; track progress using CRM and project management tools. • Support new business development and account expansion by assisting with complex deal strategy, value positioning, and navigation of institutional decision-making processes. • Serve as a senior escalation point for strategic accounts and ensure alignment between customer expectations and Caris operational performance. • Represent Caris Life Sciences at the highest levels of customer leadership as a long-term precision medicine partner.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in strategic account management, oncology diagnostics, precision medicine, or complex healthcare sales.
  • Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics, next-generation sequencing (NGS), oncology workflows, and pathology/laboratory operations.
  • Demonstrated success driving growth within complex, matrixed healthcare environments.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority and lead cross-functional and field teams.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment processes, including background check, drug screening, and reference check.

This individual will partner with MAPS Therapeutic Area Leads, Cross Functional Field Leadership, the Novartis Patient Support Center, and other matrix support partners to develop a sustainable enterprise wide and TA (Therapeutic Area) specific field strategy, effective customer engagement planning, performance monitoring, field capability building, and field operational excellence for 400+ field associates representing core Market Access and Patient Support responsibilities. The scope and scale of the role will adapt to meet the expanding needs of Novartis with the overarching goal to reduce friction for patients and their providers by building capabilities, harmonizing deployment, and delivering results through a high-performing national field organization. Key Responsibilities - Develop and oversee a unified field strategy, operating model, deployment structure, and capability enhancement program for field teams within the Market Access & Patient Support function across TAs. - Attract, coach and retain a team of high performing National & Regional Directors and field focused Patient Support professionals. - Serve as a member of the MA&PS Leadership Team and partner closely with the TA Strategy leads and relevant in MA&PS COEs (Trade; Specialty Pharmacy (SP); Payer; Alternate Site of Care (ASOC); Patient Support Center (PSC) to execute TA-specific access and support priorities through high-impact field teams. - Lead Field Strategy & Effectiveness team and seek to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness at a regional and national level using analytics, KPIs, and CRM tools; support a culture of continuous evolution and learning. - Partner closely with Customer Engagement Team and other field team counterparts, as appropriate, to ensure strong collaboration and coordination of field associate activities, business plans, and customer resolutions. - Understand and integrate payer, reimbursement, policy & regulatory, customer & stakeholder ecosystems and access realities into field strategy and execution decisions. - Integrate with Novartis leadership and collaborate across multi-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, MAPS, Operations, Training, Legal, ERC, etc.) to ensure a collaborative and compliant approach to support field success. - Maintain a deep understanding of NPC policies and requirements and perform all responsibilities with integrity and in a manner consistent with company guidance and prescribed Values and Behaviors.
