Junior Scrum Master

Role Description A Junior Scrum Master supports the adoption and execution of Scrum practices within a development team. This role focuses on learning and applying agile principles while assisting in facilitating Scrum events, tracking team progress, and helping remove basic impediments. Working closely with senior Scrum Masters or agile leaders, this individual helps create a collaborative, transparent environment that enables teams to deliver quality outcomes. Qualifications - Typically 0–2 years of relevant experience in software development, project coordination, or agile environments. Requirements - Support and co-facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives. - Identify common blockers and escalate them appropriately to ensure timely resolution. - Help maintain alignment with sprint goals and reduce minor distractions impacting team productivity. - Demonstrate a foundational understanding of Scrum and agile practices, continuing to build knowledge through hands-on experience. - Assist in maintaining visibility into sprint progress, backlog status, and team deliverables. - Participate in retrospectives and support the team in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Key Skills - Basic Agile/Scrum Knowledge: Understanding of Scrum ceremonies, roles, and workflow. - Communication: Clear, organized communication with team members and stakeholders. - Facilitation (Foundational): Ability to support stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives. - Organization & Tracking: Managing tasks, timelines, and simple project updates. - Problem Identification: Recognizing blockers and escalating appropriately. - Collaboration: Working effectively across cross-functional teams. - Learning Agility: Willingness to learn and apply agile best practices. - Attention to Detail: Keeping accurate records of progress and issues. - Team Support Mindset: Demonstrating early servant leadership behaviors. Additional Requirements - This role supports an ITAR-compliant client account with specific security and work authorization requirements. - Must be ITAR-compliant and able to provide proof of citizenship. - Must be a legal US Citizen on US Soil. Puerto Rico is not exempt for this account. - Applicants must reside in the continental United States. - A background check and drug test are required. - Work Environment: remote, US (Connecticut based preferred).
