Senior Accountant, USG Contracts

Sabin Vaccine Institute

• Reports to: Controller • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records • Lead key activities including financial reporting, month-end close, monthly invoicing for U.S. Government (USG) contracts, budgeting, and financial analysis • Prepare monthly U.S. Government (USG) invoices and related reconciliations • Collaborate with Finance, Program Controls, and R&D teams to develop annual budgets • Maintain accurate financial records by reviewing, reconciling, and recording monthly transactions • Provide reconciled general ledger activity, BARDA invoices, and labor reporting data to support monthly Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and program analysis • Support annual audits, including Uniform Guidance and Incurred Cost Submission (ICS) audits

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of nine years of accounting experience, including U.S. Government (USG) contract accounting
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Government contracting requirements, cost principles, and invoicing processes
  • Proficiency with NetSuite, including NetSuite Planning & Budgeting (NSPB), or similar accounting software
  • Experience with Paylocity or similar payroll software
  • Experience with ClickTime or similar timekeeping software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word, as well as Zoom video conferencing
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, flexibility, and a strong work ethic
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
