• Lead month-end close activities, including revenue recognition, prepaids, accruals, and management reporting • Quickly learn existing operational accounting processes and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to improve and scale them • Drive forward new ERP software implementation to elevate and scale accounting operations • Expand upon our existing data reporting framework to monitor financial data for inconsistencies and improve the accuracy of our reports • Participate in ad hoc projects, system integrations, and reporting requirements as needed • Work closely with the team to ensure accounting policies and procedures comply with professional, audit, and regulatory standards

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • 3-6 years in accounting and finance
  • 4+ years in a startup or fast-paced accounting environment
  • Advanced Excel skills (you can figure out any formula)
  • Strong operational accounting background with the desire to design interconnected processes and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Curiosity to understand data and glean insights from it
  • Strong ownership mentality with a bias toward action
  • Comfortable speaking up, sharing ideas, and influencing across teams
  • Experience using AI tools in accounting or finance workflows
  • Bonus Points: CPA or other accounting designation
  • Experience at a startup
  • Ability to write and read SQL and familiarity with BI tools

Senior Revenue Accountant About the Role Genesys is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Revenue Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role is responsible for supporting SAAS revenue recognition. The Senior Accountant will assist in the validation, accounting, and review of sales-related transactions. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate reporting of revenue and accounting data as part of the monthly revenue close process. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of revenue reporting and will contribute to strategic business initiatives such as new product assessments and acquisitions. Key Responsibilities - Ensure revenue and related balance sheet accounts are recorded in compliance with ASC 606 and company policies. - Review and validate data accuracy in the revenue system (RevPro). - Prepare journal entries and perform detailed analyses to support the monthly close process. - Reconcile revenue-related accounts, including deferred revenue, contract assets, and unbilled revenue. - Maintain and operate internal controls related to revenue, supporting both internal and external audits. - Perform advanced Excel-based data analysis to support revenue accounting activities. - Process contract modifications, revenue adjustments, and other journal entries in RevPro. - Assist in the testing, and implementation of system updates and enhancements. - Participate in ad hoc projects, including new product evaluations, acquisitions, and internal reporting initiatives. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; Master’s degree is a plus. - 1–3 years of experience in revenue recognition or related accounting roles. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly. - Proven ability to collaborate across departments, including Sales, Product, and Audit teams. - Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
