Business Strategy Intern

NMI

• Analyze monetization and pricing best practices across the industry and summarize practical frameworks and ideas applicable to NMI • Conduct competitive research on competing payments and financial technology companies, with a focus on AI capabilities, product strategy, and feature positioning • Analyze up sales and add-ons offered by competitors, including packaging, pricing, target audiences, and go-to-market strategies • Build and maintain structured competitive intelligence trackers, summaries, and comparison matrices that can be reused and updated over time • Support hardware strategy refresh by benchmarking competition and licensing, and proposing package concepts • Synthesize research into clear, executive-ready summaries, slides, and short written briefs • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and incorporate feedback into final deliverables

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, or related fields
  • Strong research, analytical, and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working with Office365 or G-Suite
  • Highly organized, curious, and able to turn complex information into clear insights
  • Interest in financial technology, payment processing, pricing, or strategy (prior experience not required)

Job Description We are seeking a strategic thinker and consultant with experience in ERP-related advisory work to lead engagements across enterprise transformation, technology strategy, and organizational readiness. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in the ERP space but is looking to apply their skills in a broader strategic context, helping clients navigate complex decisions, align technology with mission, and drive meaningful change. This is not an implementation role, it’s about shaping the vision and guiding the journey. As such, your ERP experience is valued, but your broader strategic thinking is what drives success. Job Responsibilities - Lead Strategic Engagements: Deliver high-impact strategy projects across enterprise transformation, IT modernization, and organizational design. - Guide ERP Readiness and Advisory: Conduct assessments, develop roadmaps, and advise clients on ERP-related decisions within broader transformation efforts. - Shape Client Strategy: Collaborate with executives to define vision, evaluate options, and align technology investments with mission outcomes. - Facilitate Stakeholder Alignment: Lead workshops, interviews, and executive briefings to surface priorities and build consensus. - Collaborate Across Practices: Partner with delivery teams in ERP implementation, modernization, and analytics to ensure strategic coherence. - Contribute to Practice Growth: Support methodology development, thought leadership, and internal capability building. Required Skills - 6–10 years of experience in strategy consulting, with exposure to ERP-related projects (e.g., readiness, selection, transformation). - Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations. - Knowledge of and strategic experience with Workday or Oracle and demonstrated projects in at least one functional area (finance, HCM, etc.). - Experience working with mission-driven organizations (higher ed, nonprofit, public sector) preferred. - Ability to lead client engagements independently and collaboratively. - Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, Prosci, ERP-specific) a plus.
