Senior Accountant, Tax

• Assist in the preparation and review of corporate tax returns, including direct, indirect, VAT, and international filings. • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP tax provisions. • Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for tax provisions in collaboration with the Accounting team. • Record quarterly and annual tax-related journal entries. • Process tax payments and ensure accurate recording of related entries. • Coordinate the collection and validation of financial data required for tax reporting and filings. • Track, manage, and respond to tax notices and correspondence in a timely manner. • Collaborate with external tax advisors and consultants to support compliance and reporting requirements. • Ensure tax and accounting processes adhere to internal controls, policies, and procedures, including SOX 404 requirements. • Partner with internal and external auditors to support audits and respond to inquiries. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities. • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Accounting function. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA preferred
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or corporate tax
- Experience in the financial services industry preferred
- Exposure to tax returns and/or tax provisions is helpful but not required; training will be provided
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including U.S. GAAP
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong working relationships
- Familiarity with tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or other data/automation tools is a plus
- Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
