• We are building a benchmark dataset to evaluate AI models on professional document understanding and instruction following within the Engineering & Built Environment domain. • Tasks consist of complex, multi-step requests grounded in real-world workspace files (technical drawings, project specifications, engineering reports), web search, and code execution — each paired with a clearly defined ground truth output and an objective evaluation rubric. • You will be responsible for authoring tasks that test an AI's ability to interpret engineering documentation, follow multi-step instructions, and produce precise, well-structured outputs.

• Analyze and optimize GPU kernels for performance, efficiency, and hardware utilization • Use profiler metrics such as L2 cache hit rate, L2 throughput, occupancy, and related signals to guide kernel improvements • Review GPU kernel implementations and identify bottlenecks without requiring extensive background in the underlying algorithms • Write, modify, and reason about C++17, Python, and GPU programming code • Apply CUDA, HIP, shader programming, or related kernel programming expertise to improve performance outcomes • Document optimization decisions clearly, including when specific profiler metrics are or are not useful

Role Description We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of our software installation frameworks using InstallShield, along with core components written in C, C++, and C#. You will be responsible for streamlining our Dentrix software deployment processes and improving install and upgrade experiences for a wide range of customers – from large enterprise clients to small clinics. If you’re passionate about software quality, installer reliability, and developer enablement, this is the role for you! - Design, develop, and maintain InstallShield projects and custom actions for Dentrix - Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, DevOps and support, ensuring a seamless and iterative design process that integrates feedback at every stage - Lead initiatives to modernize and standardize our installer infrastructure, including versioning, rollback, silent install contracts, and upgrade strategies - Troubleshoot and resolve complex installation-related issues across supported Windows environments - Contribute to the development of core application components in C, C++, and C#, ensuring maintainability and performance - Mentor other engineers and set best practices in packaging, deployment, automated install testing, and legacy code modernization - Strong understanding of databases and ability to support database schema management - Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly and champion AI assisted engineering Qualifications - 7+ years of professional software development experience with a focus in Windows desktop and system-level applications - 3+ years of hands-on experience with package management tools, preferably InstallShield - In depth knowledge of Windows OS, Windows Installer (MSI), and registry/file system operations - Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills related to installation and runtime behaviors and processes - Clear and confident communicator who thrives in a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture - Ability to lead cross-functional efforts and effectively within engineering, QA, DevOps, and support in an agile scrum environment - Ability to own technical design decisions - Understanding and defining cross-team interdependent roadmaps - Passion for building great software and driving team success Requirements - Nice to Haves - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field - Prior experience as a team or technical lead - Experience with WiX, Chocolatey, Scoop, Winget or other modern packaging frameworks - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and build automation tools - Familiarity with digital signing processes, elevation/privilege handling, and silent installs - Familiarity with Faircom database - Familiarity with clean architecture and similar patterns Benefits - A robust benefits package including health coverage - Retirement savings with company match - Paid time off - Parental leave - Wellbeing resources - Education support - AND MORE!
