Scientific Program Associate
Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research
• Support the timely review of proposals submitted to FFAR by requesting and coordinating expert reviewers and review panels. • Organize and coordinate meeting and event logistics and attend events as needed. • Draft event proceedings. • Organize Advisory Council meetings and drafting minutes. • Conduct background research, including data analysis, literature reviews and media scanning. • Correspond with other organizations and associations to support research programs. • Prepare summary briefs on emerging or important research developments. • Assist with stakeholder communications. • Support outreach strategies by preparing materials for the FFAR website, newsletters and publications. • Developing and/or maintaining project management tools. • Assist with the grant-making process.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree; an agriculture-related major is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience, including demonstrated analytical, writing and fact-checking skills.

• Assemble solar panels and standard frames as required. • Install photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions from senior managers. • Install electrical components, equipment, or systems. • Determine appropriate location and orientation for Panel installations. • Perform wiring related to the solar system. • Perform routine photovoltaic (PV) system maintenance on panels, arrays, batteries, inverters, structures etc. • Compile or maintain records of system operation, performance, and maintenance. • Supervise large installations. • Determine reliable and appropriate sizes, ratings, and locations for all system overcurrent devices, disconnect devices, grounding equipment, and surge suppression equipment. • Program, adjust, or configure inverters and controls for desired set points and operating modes. • Identify and resolve any deficiencies in photovoltaic (PV) system installation, wiring or materials. • Test operating voltages to ensure operation within acceptable limits for power conditioning equipment, such as inverters and controllers.
