Within our State Government Solutions business unit, we support State Medicaid and Health and Human Services agencies by delivering a broad array of complex health services, including advanced analytics, policy and program consulting, operational capabilities, program integrity, and health information technology modernization solutions. The Vice President of Business Development serves as the lead representative for Optum State Government Solutions within their designated territory. This role influences and executes sales efforts for Optum's core capabilities for Direct to State opportunities. The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for developing strategies aligned with State goals and coordinating multifaceted teams across Optum to deliver solutions that best meet customer needs. This is a quota carrying position with primary emphasis on new business growth and customer satisfaction. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: - Quota carrying role with a primary focus on net new business - Qualify and maintain a predictable sales pipeline of Optum opportunities within the designated territory - Develop solid, trusted relationships with State Health and Human Services (HHS) agency personnel, State CIOs, and State leadership - Lead, influence, and execute sales efforts for Optum's core Direct to State capabilities, including: - Data and analytics - Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) modules - Eligibility and program integrity enterprise solutions - Business outsourcing for State HHS programs - Coordinate multifaceted teams within a complex organization to execute the end to end sales process, including participation in State RFP responses You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
