Role Description The Alliance of Champions for Food Systems Transformation (ACF) is seeking a qualified Senior Communications Specialist to provide strategic communications support to the ACF Secretariat. The consultant will contribute to the development and delivery of high-impact communications products that strengthen the visibility, credibility, and influence of the Alliance. - Support ACF's efforts to advance ambitious, country-led food systems transformation. - Develop communications strategies, messaging frameworks, thought leadership content, advocacy materials, and stakeholder engagement products. - Position ACF as a recognized voice on food systems transformation through high-quality communications outputs. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree with Master’s Degree in communications, public affairs, media, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Solid professional experience (minimum 10 years) in relevant fields. - Strong track record of developing communications strategies and high-impact messaging for senior audiences. - Excellent editorial judgement and substantial experience drafting and editing op-eds, commentary, speeches, briefing notes, and thought leadership materials. - Demonstrated ability to translate complex policy, technical, or political issues into compelling and accessible communications. - Strong understanding of the international policy landscape, ideally including food systems, climate, nature, development, agriculture, or related issues. - Experience working in or with government, multilateral institutions, or international alliances. - Experience advising senior leaders or public figures on communications strategy and positioning. - Experience developing and executing digital and social media strategies. - Experience supporting communications around major international moments such as COPs, UN processes, or high-level summits. - Understanding of country-led advocacy and the challenges of coalition communications. - Strong judgement, discretion, and political sensitivity. - Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions. - Excellent written and spoken English; other languages (particularly Spanish and/or Portuguese) would be an advantage. Requirements - Develop strategic communications recommendations aligned with ACF's advocacy and organizational objectives. - Develop and refine messaging frameworks, narrative guidance, and positioning materials. - Prepare strategic recommendations on priority communications opportunities, channels, audiences, and areas of focus. - Produce flagship long-form communications products highlighting lessons, achievements, and opportunities. - Prepare communications risk assessments and mitigation recommendations. - Provide strategic communications guidance to Secretariat colleagues and external partners. Benefits - This is a remote, 11-month consultancy opportunity. - All consultancy fees and conditions will be administered in line with the Alliance approved policy for consultants. Role Description AARP is looking for a creative, organized, and results-driven student interested in graphic design and communications. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in content creation, digital design, and communication strategies across various platforms, including social media, web, email, and video. You will work as part of a team that supports the mission of AARP and collaborates with offices across the nation. This remote paid internship has an anticipated start date of Fall 2026 and can continue through the end of the year with the potential for extension. Qualifications - Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university as rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or postdoctoral students, and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship. - Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva). - Experience in creating and publishing social media content for Facebook and X, and familiarity with social media publishing platforms (e.g., Sprinklr). - Understanding of website management tools (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager) is a plus. - Experience with video editing software (e.g., iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) preferred. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - A creative mindset with attention to detail. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting. - A strong customer/client-service approach to supporting staff. - AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time.
