Role Description As a Principal Data Governance & Information Architect at General Electric Company, you will play a critical role in shaping our data strategy, ensuring data quality, and establishing robust governance frameworks across the organization. This position requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in data architecture, information management, and data governance best practices to drive data-driven decision-making and innovation. - Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines. - Define and manage the corporate data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, data flows, and data lifecycles for critical business domains. - Develop and maintain the enterprise data catalog and data dictionary, promoting data literacy and understanding across the organization. - Establish data quality frameworks, metrics, and processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data assets. - Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data owners to identify data requirements, resolve data-related issues, and drive data stewardship initiatives. - Architect and oversee the implementation of master data management (MDM) and data warehousing solutions to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. - Drive the adoption of data governance tools and technologies, ensuring their effective integration and utilization within the GE ecosystem. - Provide expert guidance and mentorship to data professionals, fostering a culture of data excellence and continuous improvement. - Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data governance, data architecture, and information management. - Communicate complex data concepts and strategies effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. - Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, data governance, or information management roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership or principal capacity. Requirements - Proven expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-level data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures. - Deep understanding of data modeling techniques (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and experience with data modeling tools. - Extensive experience with data quality management, master data management (MDM), and data warehousing concepts and technologies. - Familiarity with various data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation). - Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry compliance standards. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. - Demonstrated ability to lead complex data initiatives from conception to successful execution. - Experience in a large, complex enterprise environment, preferably within a global organization. - This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
