Job Description Position Overview The KIPP NYC Chief Financial Officer is an essential leadership role on the KIPP NYC executive team, overseeing a nearly $200M annual operating budget, growing to nearly $300M by 2030. The CFO will execute on KIPP NYC's financial strategy, with the primary goal of ensuring long-term financial health while supporting the prioritization of resources to support student outcomes. The CFO will build upon existing infrastructure to increase efficiency, will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting, and leading and developing the Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis teams (12 team members). The Chief Financial Officer will report to the President. Specific responsibilities include: Strategic Finance - Oversee KIPP NYC's long-term financial strategy and ensure financial health while maximizing resources available to students - Oversee efficient and effective budget, forecast, and monthly variance analysis processes; ensure maintenance with all financial covenants - Deliver concise and clear analyses and takeaways to stakeholders, including boards, finance committees, and internal teams; identify recommendations and action steps based on financial analyses Accounting, Controls & Reporting - Oversee timely delivery of annual audits, free of findings, and ongoing external reporting (e.g., authorizer reporting) - Oversee all financial functions to ensure accurate and timely execution of operational finance (i.e., bookkeeping, banking, payroll, public grant compliance, compliance with all fiscal policies and procedures) Stakeholder Management & Development - Manage accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis teams; provide team members with coaching, regular feedback, professional development, and training - Play a key role on the leadership team, providing team with critical financial insights to inform decisions and daily operations - Create a positive work environment with high employee engagement - Build and maintain strong relationships with teams across the organization and oversee the delivery of high-quality financial services to the organization and our schools Systems, Processes and Training - Enhance and/or build systems and processes for all aspects of the finance team work including key accounting, reporting and compliance workstreams - Design and deliver training to school leaders and Shared Service Team members to support the strong implementation of Fiscal Policies and Procedures - How to Apply: KIPP NYC has engaged DGW Group to lead the search for our CFO. Additional Information Compensation and Benefits: KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $230,000 - $280,000. Salary ranges at KIPP NYC are standardized based on role level and role function. Individual salaries are determined through a lens of equity, accounting for years of experience relevant to the role and scope of responsibilities, and are benchmarked against others within the same salary band.
