Senior SEO Manager - Citation Outreach

Huntress

Reports to: Senior Director, Web Location: Remote US Compensation Range: $140,000 to $150,000 base plus bonus and equity What We Do: Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact. Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress is a remote-first team working to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. We work closely with security teams and service providers protecting complex environments, often without the time or headcount to handle it all. That’s why we build our technology in-house and back it with a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). As a result, our platform is never disconnected from the experts who manage it, ensuring our customers' protection. Huntress now secures more than 5M endpoints and 11M identities worldwide. Those numbers keep growing because more businesses rely on us to help carry the load and operate with more confidence. Every day, you can see that commitment in how we stand with our customers and how we show up for each other. What You’ll Do: As the Senior SEO Manager, Offsite Authority & Citation Strategy, you will own the programs and content that drive the presence of Huntress beyond our own website, across third-party publications, partner sites, LLM citation sources, and the broader web ecosystem. This environment determines how AI models and search engines understand and recommend our brand. You will approach this mission with an Outcome-Obsessed mindset, taking deep personal ownership of citation share of voice and driving measurable impact that maps directly back to company growth. This is not a vendor-management role. You are a strong, independent writer who can take a technical security topic from insight to published piece, as well as a systems thinker who builds repeatable workflows. You show you Give a $h*t by proactively spotting gaps in how our brand is cited, owning the offsite strategy end-to-end, and using automation to handle repetitive tasks so your energy goes toward high-value execution. Responsibilities: - Write and place high-impact offsite articles, guest posts, and partner content on external properties, keeping your output Outcome-Obsessed by tracking exact prompt referral traffic and prompt answer inclusion. - Build a citation-first offsite strategy using analytics platforms to learn which external sources AI models use most, showing you Give a $h*t by turning those data insights into active outreach campaigns. - Design and run structured content experiments across third-party properties to test what structures drive better citation visibility, documenting your findings to build shared team knowledge. - Cultivate and protect direct relationships with the MSP community publishers, tech media, and security bloggers to build reliable channels for content placement. - Build documented, automated workflows for your outreach pipeline to scale up successful tactics and keep execution moving fast. - Work closely with the core SEO and content teams to verify offsite initiatives amplify our onsite engine and fill topical gaps across the cybersecurity landscape. What You Bring To The Team: - 7+ years of experience in SEO roles with a proven focus on offsite content, link building, and authority growth programs. - Strong, independent writing and editing skills with a track record of producing publication-ready technical or thought leadership copy for B2B SaaS or cybersecurity crowds. - Hands-on experience using AI tools to build automated workflows for content research, tracking, or reporting. - Familiarity with AEO and LLM insights tracking platforms such as Profound, or an understanding of how AI engines find, rank, and cite web copy. - Deep knowledge of fundamental SEO platforms including Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog. - Analytical background that lets you easily translate citation performance data into clear business narratives for cross-functional stakeholders. - Experience in cybersecurity, SaaS markets, or working closely with the MSP and channel ecosystem. What We Offer: - 100% remote work environment - since our founding in 2015 - Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick time, and paid holidays - 12 weeks of paid parental leave - Highly competitive and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits plans - 401(k) with a 5% contribution regardless of employee contribution - Life and Disability insurance plans - Stock options for all full-time employees - One-time $500 reimbursement for building/upgrading home office - Annual allowance for education and professional development assistance - $75 USD/month digital reimbursement - Access to the BetterUp platform for coaching, personal, and professional growth Huntress is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity where every single member of our team is valued, has a voice, and is empowered to come to work every day just as they are. We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, genetic information, marital status, or any other legally protected status. We do discriminate against hackers who try to exploit businesses of all sizes.
